20 VARTARG

Don't remember what I started out with but my present working load is 19.6g pushing a 32g Z-Max(cheap bullets).:) dedogs
Thanks dedogs...I got some x-terminator that I would like to get used up and it sounds like it will work in the 20VT. Are you using a standard or magnum primer? Thanks

Gene

Thank you I appreciate it! I'm 18 and have reloaded some but pretty new to wildcat rounds like the 20 VARTARG. I have only used lee case trimmers so far. You guys have answered my questions and I will look into getting a redding 2400 trimmer

Not sure I would suggest this trimmer. I got mine used from a friend for a good price so I'm quite happy with it. It works but not without issues. If I have to trim more than about .007 the trimmed lip of the case wants to snag on the back side of the pilot which is something of a hassle to pull free. I had an RCBS trimmer before the Redding and frankly I liked it just as well because it didn't do that. The Redding 2400 has the micrometer which is pretty nice to have but something one could live without. To save money the Redding 1400 is pretty similar minus the micrometer.

If doing it all over again, I would probably buy the Wilson. Highly suggest you take a look at that one before you buy anything else.

When you finish all you can read on this site on small calibers you may try Saubier.com and visit the Woodchuck Den online. I just got their reloading manual and it is called the The Terrific Twenties by Todd Kindler. Maybe ask around in your shop and someone may have a copy you can borrow.Lots of Vatarg info in there.
