1000 yard range in New England

XTR

F-TR obssessed shooting junkie
In my continuing efforts to try to adjust from moving from Tennessee (The Patron State of Shooting Stuff) where I lived 20 minutes from the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association, to New Hampshire I have come across a facility called the Granby Bow and Gun Club. Their website http://granbybowandgun.club/ says they have a 1000 yard range.

Anyone know anything about the place? It's about 2 hours from me, makes it closer than Albany, NY, the only other 1000 yard range in the region by about an hour and a half.

I looked into the Albany range - the line of fire runs across another club's skeet and trap field, so the 1000 yd range is only available a few times a year.

I know Albany has matches, I'm planning to make some of those. (I know Robert Bock shoots there)

I'm only 5 hours from Ottawa. I would like to get some range time there. It may become a regular trip for me (might need to get a Canadian firearms card so I don't get popped for the fee every time I cross)

The range in Mass. seems to be new. The pictures don't look like they have pits. I'll have to make time shortly to get down there and join and see what's what.

I belong to both the Granby and the Forbes clubs..The Forbes range in Albany are xring shooters and have 4 matches a year with 1k practice once a month and the 600 range is open ever Thursday and they have pits..The Granby club has a 1k and other distance at different ranges shooting at steel and you have access on odd days of the week..It really depends on what type of shooting you do..The smart think is to stay where you are now!..The northeast laws are not too gun friendly..Just p.m. if you have any more questions......later

I've heard rumor of that place. Have heard they are having zoning issues, or money issues depending on who is talking.
