Ok.. my current chamber was cut with a Wylde reamer then throated for the 90 VLD bullet.
My measurements to a fired case in the current chamber is
Base Dia: 0.3760 (Not the rim, but the base of the case body)
Shld Dia: 0.3585
And the Bottom of the case to the datum of the shoulder is 1.453
New Blue box Lapua 223 brass is
Bottom to the Datum: 1.451
Base Dia: 0.374
Shld Dia: 0.350
According to this link
http://ar15barrels.com/data/223-556.pdf
The Wylde chamber should be approx
Base Dia: 0.3810(i am not sure, but i have a feeling here that they measured the rim, instead of the case body)
Shld Dia: 0.3572
Bottom to Shoulder: 1.4316 (i checked, looks like the datum measuring point is about .020+)
And using the drawing posted on this page of the 223 ISSF reamer specs.
http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/223-90vld-dummy-rounds.3903312/
Base Dia: 0.377
Shld Dia: 0.3568
Bottom to Shoulder: 1.432
So my thinking is, would it better to forge forward with i have been doing, or change up and run with the ISSF reamer? i will make a call to Dave on monday for a reamer..
Now dies are set to the do the following:
Base Dia: 0.3750
Shld Dia : 0.3555
Bottom to datum: 1.452
With either reamer, in a close to perfect world, i shouldn't have to adjust my body die at all should i?
