Post about concealed carry and summer time shorts ?

I would sworn I saw a post asking for opinions about concealed carry pistols in the summer wearing shorts. Have I missed something as I can't find the post and answers ??

I use Thunder wear, basic model $45 1-800- 830-3057, there IS nothing better, been using for 20 yrs.

OK, get your self a S&W 638-3 airweight (concealed hammer, won't snag when drawn) in .38+p with Houge grips. Load it up with Glaser Safety Slugs and that will stop anything. I've shot 1 gal jugs of water @ 20 feet and the performance of those slugs is Devastating!

Waterfwlr,
Thank you, started my search with your S&W body guard, looked good at 12 Oz. then I found a Ruger LCP , also in 380. it was 9.4 oz. There were several more. Looks like I'll be spending a complete day at the next gun show seeing which one feels the best in my meat slab of a hand.
The internet data on the 380 as a defense round is confusing at best. I'll leave that research for the next rainy day.

Baddog0302, I had the LCP first. Sold it. Bodyguard has a better trigger, sights, and integral laser, and the LCP action didnt stay open on empty. Bodyguard is much nicer IMO. .380 with the right ammo at close range will do the job.

G42 in my front pocket or leg cargo pocket every day. Rain for the next three days so I'll have to back to a pants and holster.

I REALLY LIKE MY LITTLE KEL-TECH P-32 WHEN WEARING SHORTS AND MY PF-9 WHEN WEARING PANTS

The thing to keep in mind about a carry pistol is a small and lightweight pistol is easiest to carry and conceal but they are horrible to shoot. Think more weight = less recoil and less weight = more recoil = more pain...

Most people that have experience shooting will tell you that to get confidence with your carry gun, you have to shoot it. However, a lightweight carry gun will discourage you from shooting it which is counter productive. The best advice is to carry what you shoot, and if what you shoot is too big, carry a shorter version of the same gun so that you are familiar with its manipulation. I carry IWB a XDSC, not exactly a light weight pistol but it shoots very accurate just like my competition pistol XDM 5.25 competition and it conceals easily with a loose T-shirt.

I wear the cargo shorts from academy, and carry a Kimber ultra carry 45acp every day. It's hit here in Texas so shorts are the norm ten months a year. Have a kel tec 380 to slide in back pocket when wearing jeans
