20 MOA Rail Question

I have a 338 Lapua shooting 300 grain bullets at 2700 fps. I have shot it at 600 yards with a 6-20x40mm leupy and have had great results.
I would like to go to 1000 with a new vx6 7-42x56 CDS TMOA Plus. I have not zeroed it in yet. I would like a 200 yard zero. My question is will i need a 20 MOA rail to go to 1000yards.? Drop from Bullet Flight says drop will be -257 inches or -24.6 MOA to -281.2 inches or 26.9 MOA from a 200 yard zero. Thanks in advance.

It may have 55 MOA.
If reticle is centered, then that leaves only 25, correct?

27.5 , if it was mine I would have a 20 MOA one piece base on it just for the check of it. I do not believe that a .338 Lapua type cartridge was meant to be shot at 200 yards. 1000 - 1 mile easy.... JMTC.

I would like, @ the end of the day, be able to hit a target @ 1000 yards and also have a CDS turret cap, all with the same set up.
The crosshair system has 10 MOA available I think.

You may want to look at some of those Burris rings to squeeze in a little more adjustment....just a quick peek at drop.....

....47 1/2 minutes will get you about 975......if my quicky is close. It's always nice to have a close quicky...

I haven't sent it in or accuried about yet. I know there's lots of differences between the two cartridges, I like the scope.

Just put a 20 or 30 moa rail on it and be done. Wont hurt anything anyways

I love a cds system, but though different calibers we have same speed and I'm ALMOST positive that with a 200 zero you still cannot get to 1000 with a zero,stop cds turret. I can't.
Now with a non zero stop,you can but you've got to,baby it to keep,it from moving when hunting or traveling. I have a hard time at dusk and dawn seeing the markings and I even ordered a cap with extra heavy font laser engraved.
