The problem I see with this formula is while bullet efficiency is the same for all shooters; how they handle recoil may be considerably different. I came from the old days of .30-06 and then .308. Some shooters were seemingly unaffected. You weren't competitive if the recoil bothered you very much and maybe smallbore was your game if it did.

Was just looking at the 90gr. Bergers and they recommend a 6 TWIST barrel. I hunted around a bit and couldn't find one available anywhere....Just me??

Actually, that is the beauty of it. It allows for shooters to select a high performing cartridge to match their recoil tolerance.
