F-Class Nationals Lodi, Wi

No offsets...excellent :) and yes target faces are easy to replace. My gerbil wheel "upstairs" was starting to go out of control with that dilemma. Thanks, Eric in DL

I don't know whether this will be helpful or not; but, the NRA High Power Rifle Rule changes effective 2016, paragraph 10.17 Electronic Scoring Targets, in part, states, "The individual competitor's system must be set to the bullet diameter currently being used by the competitor."

Danny Biggs

Thanks for the correction regarding holes and e-targets Danny, I missed that. So does that mean the approach planned (.30 cal holes for all) for Lodi is not legal? Or was the "using .30 cal holes for all" mentioned previously in this thread simply hearsay? Personally, I think the center of the hole is what should count, not the diameter of the bullet. But that's just me.

... I think the center of the hole is what should count, not the diameter of the bullet.

That's how the various electronic targeting systems work (to the extent of my understanding) given the physics of actually getting a measurement off projectiles of various diameters at real-world price.

Traditional paper targets make it (relatively) easy enough even if a plug is needed to gauge whether a shot is in or out. Where they lack is the precision of accurate scoring rings: paper's hardly dimensionally stable, to say nothing about what they're mounted on or how carefully they (repair centers) might be pasted in place.

It's certainly possible to add a function to ET's that calculates shot score values based upon a particular bullet diameter being used. Whether that's logistically practical (changing bullet diameter for every shooter every time a relay comes to the line) needs addressing, as well as the point Danny raised a few posts back.

Well, could be wrong, but from what I have read the actual scoring conformance is done in your tablet device via the Java Script down loaded. So, the actual caliber in use by the shooter could be an input just like who is the shooter and who is the score keeper. But "first get to first" and add foo foo later.

I don't see any input for bullet diameter in the SMT software accessible by the user.

The user tablet/laptop/cellphone does not download any software; these wireless machines only need a browser to display the target and scoring. The software in on the SMT server.

I might be coming down through your country next week. So can someone PM me the link to schedule for the week. If it works out, I might stop in and watch a bit.

I’ve been watching some chat about etartgets. I hear that NRA has stipulated .25” precision to use electronic targets for competition.

The ones your using. How were they qualified to meet that? Who qualified them?

RickRusty, is that you?

Not an application but JavaScript, which is a procedural program executed within the browser to do complex interactions.
Electronic devices at the F-Class nationals
Note reference to JavaScript, which is executed in your tablet's browser.
The java script would be specific to the SMT and i do not run any java script when I use the SMT. All I do on the browser is type the url of the server, choose the target face, number of sighters and shots for score. If there is any Java script, it would be on the server (maybe for generating the target faces).

If you clear the browsers cach and web site data, then turn off JavaScript for the browser, you will likely find that the SMT target page no longer works.
