Chad,
First off, welcome aboard. And don't feel like the Lone Ranger. We all up here started somewhere. Someone didn't wave a magic wand over my head and blessed the knowledge I have learned in over 55 yrs of shooting weapons of all sort. And yes, many of us are Benchrest Shooters, but we have lots of other shooting discipline people up here including experts from the manufacturing and even top ranked Gunsmiths who build our toys.
So may I suggest you get hold of a few books such as "The ABC's of Reloading" to get a basis for what we try and perfect in our own individual weapons. And there are plenty of other books available such as those written by Mike Ratigan and Tony Boyer, proven experts and champions in Benchrest Shooting. This website is supported by donations, but also by businesses (listed at the top of the page) whose owners are also proven shooting champs in their own right. And even they started somewhere such as what I'm suggesting. Of course many of us had others to learn from and to lean on when we asked the same questions you might be asking. So don't be shy...ASK QUESTIONS. This website has a PM (Private Message) function should you choose to ask a question of a specific poster or member.
Hang in there, read and learn. This stuff doesn't happen overnight. Like I said, I've been learning a very long time and continue in that effort, even though soon I'll be 70 (where the heck did time go.). But most of all, have fun in what you are doing. Precision Reloading and expert marksmanship can be so rewarding and just pure fun, when you keep it in perspective.
