Reloading press for traveling?

Lately I find myself on the road more than I would like. Often I drive so I can carry my shooting stuffs. I'm setup with an arbor press and Wilson dies, toss in a scale and I can reload, IF I have prepped brass.

So the question, what would be the best option for a traveling press to size brass?

Over the last few yrs I've gone to FL sizing every time, but I'm going to guess that I could get a couple of firings on neck sized if necessary.

I thought about going this route a few years back, so I picked up a Harrell's turret press out of the classifieds. After it gathered dust for a couple of years, I ended up selling it. For me, it just made way more sense to buy 2-300 more pieces of brass and load it all at once on my bench at home.

If you are worried about chasing the lands, you can load them long and final seat with your arbor press at the match. I prefer to have everything done beforehand so I can just enjoy the company and not have to reload.
 
Ryan, I've been known to ride around with 700+ rounds loaded in the back of the truck.

I have recently moved to NH, so my days of being 25 minutes from ORSA are over, toss in work, family and moving twice in the last 12 months and I've really gotten a bit out of whack shooting.

My immediate need is that I'm going to be in the Cinci area for about two months. That puts me in easy reach of ORSA on the weekends (I'm still a member). I've got a new barrel and I need to get loads worked up.

Looks like a Harrell's combo might be the ticket for me. That looks like I could carry it and mount it on the counter/desk in a motel
 
They make great products. I'm sure it will make you a great press.

I don't have any dates on the calendar yet, but we'd love to see you at Bucksnort in 2017.
 
The Coax can be fastened with a trio of clamps, and I put a 2x4 piece under it, so as not to mar the top of whatever fancy surface I fasten it to. Put a sheet of paper under the 2x4 section to further protect the motel's property. What about the RCBS Summit press? It looks to me like that might be even better. I do not like the flimsy jaws that hold the ammo case in the Coax, and carry a spare set for when they get bent. Actually, the part that bends is the housing that holds the jaws themselves.
 
I have used my Harrell's combo on the road, works well. All of my "stuff" fits easily inside of an airline carry on size rolling bag and has never raised an eyebrow at hotels/motels.
 
I used a partner as my main press when I lived in an apartment years ago. Light, compact, and works perfectly - an underrated product.

I have a flimsy jaw coax that I have loaded many of thousands of bullets . Never have I bent any parts . The hold on the case is only for removeing the brass . Larry
 
I'm going to ponder this one for a while, then I'll be sitting in the motel next week on my second bourbon:p and I'll buy the Harrell's
 
RCBS Reloader Special 5 press. It's what I used for years reloading at the range for matches. Just use a C-clamp to mount to table or whatever. It's stiff enough and a smaller size. The Partner press seemed a little on the flimsy side for my liking...even though some great shooters used them. I still preferred the Special 5 press. I did mod the handle...cut off about 4-5 inches and put a new ball on the handle (and old 8 ball). It's a great little press !
 
Been using the Partner Press for years, three machine screw and three wing nuts, goes from my bench in the house to my portable bench that I take to the range. I put the machine screws in an mt bullet box and throw in my shooting box until I get to the range, Simple, easy and Light weight.
 
I cart my Co-ax back and forth to the range and clamp it to a bench or picnic table.. I also picked up a large plastic tub that my scale, trickler, and other odds and ends will go in.

I've also pondered picking up a few hundred (probably glass) test tubes to keep pre-loaded with a specific powder charge. Would help make last minute loading pretty quick and I wouldn't have to worry about keeping the scale out of the wind.
