Lodi Nationals and extra stuff ?

As a shooter who has never been to a F Class Nationals before....is their extra items you need to bring with you ? All of the matches I've shot are either one day or two day. Will there be food available at the range? Are there items/ stuff you bring that normally wouldn't to a one day match ? Besides a lot more loaded rounds :) !! Figured I'd beat anyone to that ! Any help would be appreciated in advance !!

Rain suit for sure! And your gear needs rain protection.

Cross country skis??? This could turn into a Biathlon......
The weather can very a lot. Some years I've worn shorts the beginning of Oct. Some years you need heavy coat, warm boots and warm gloves. I only recall snow a couple times in early Oct, but then I'm getting older and the memory could be leaving me! According to Al and Hillary, you'll need shorts!!

Ok, now to be serious. Make sure that you have cleaning supplies. Not everyone cleans everyday, but every other day should be done.

For Mid West Palma there is always food available there so I'd be shocked if Earl and Karin didn't have somthing.

I'm sure that the caterer will be there most days, selling burgers and brats. I'm not sure of the 23rd, midrange practice day though.

With the number of shooters expected I'd be real suprised if the caterer's not on board.

I've been alerting the local amenities to what's coming so they can decide whether it's worthwhile adjusting their usual hours to accommodate the patronage.

KD's (north of Lodi, east on Cty J may be open for breakfast (call first!!) but ALWAYS for drinks & dinner, except Monday I think) is close to the range.

Lucy's (on south edge of town, follow 113 heading towards Dane) opens at 6 AM 7 days a week, great for breakfast too.

Also a main requirement is a cooler full of Wisconsin beer for the end of each day's shooting! Or Korbel brandy if you prefer!
I'm going to bring some good Texas beer with me. Don't want to upset the system.

You can bet rain gear and warm clothes are already on my list. This will be our first trip to Wisconsin, I don't know who's more excited, me or the little wife. We are both looking forward to it!

Neat place in Lodi, east side of Main Street just south of crossroads of 60 & 113. Excellent wine selection, whiskeys.

(Don't let the window in the floor fool you - there really is a running-fast trout stream in the 'basement'!)

Just north of the place above; great sandwiches, sit-down or carry-out. Fresh-brewed coffee.

Best dang chocolate ice cream I've ever set a spoon to too, made down in Madison I hear.

Dean, What kind of beer did you have when we shot at Capitan 2 weeks ago? I picked up some Shiner Oktoberfest a week ago. It's different than the Oktoberfest beers that I'm used to. I'm going to take Hatch chili peppers to trade for good beer!

Relative to additional considerations beyond local match paraphanalia, it would be good to include a comfortable lawn chair and a beach umbrella to go with it. With something like 6 relays there will be quite a bit of sit time and comfort will be what you need.

A cover to go over scope, ammo, action section of the rifle. They shoot in the rain. Someone came up with a clear shower curtain cut into pieces and Velcroed to the sides of the stock. It wraps over the top, extends out to cover ammo box allowing enough room to work bolt. I suggest you try it out before the match to get it in the right place. Sighting through scope and loading takes practice. A poncho will help keep you out of the rain but not your equipment. A cart is almost a must to get from parking area to firing lines. We didn't get to park behind the firing lines unless you a handicap sticker.
