Best night of the year.

I fix stuff, sometimes....
12 hogs, from 87yds to 435yds, and the kicker, last year's Coyote.

Many more like those. That 20 Practical is a severe cure for ground pigs. Load was Benchmark, 40gr Vmax, LC13 cases. Speed was 3855fps.

Those 40gr. V-Max really do a number on them.

They love the soy-beans at that height and it shows too.

Good job!

Nice shooting.
The coyote looks so small I thought it could be a fox...:)
Was it a opportunity target or called?

IS THAT ONE OF THE X CALIBER BARREL ADAM
Yeah, 3 groove 11 twist 204.

Nice shooting.

It was a target of opportunity. Coyotes in Ohio don't get called in they're either run with dogs or just happen by. This was last year's pup, still had sharp teeth.

I never seem to get that "field cleaning" effect from my 40 grain hits. I get a little hole, and they sloch around like a water balloon when you pick them up. Maybe I don't shove them hard enough.

heading out tomorrow with the 6BR and 75 grain Vmax's. Woohoo...look out Mr Piggy!

(Oh, and it is quietly said by farmers here in NY that coyotes come in season on the 2nd....the 2nd you see one ya start shooting at it!)

Nice job....what SIZE is that barrel? It looks like 1 1/4 inch! It has to be a whale with that little hole in it.

It's a straight 1.25", the whole rifle goes 24lbs, but it's not carried farther than the truck to buggy. Makes long range shots easy to spot.

Zapped one tonight at 545yds with the 20 practical. Missed a few tough from 787yds-1010yds. Those ballistic programs are nice but not set up for small caliber long range.

20160717_143032_resized.jpg 20160717_144145_resized.jpg 20160717_180513_resized.jpg Add 25 to the total. Killed 23 off a 6 acre field tonight. Farthest was 510 with the 20vt.
Also killed one with the truck, 7 with a 10/22 charger with the furthest at 109yds. This was a new field that's never been properly hunted.

How do you find the VT at 400 or less on Ghogs...does it have the oomph to knock em or is it less than desired.
