Norma 6Dasher Brass

I wouldn't remove any material Shiraz, the #2 shell holders work great...

Ray

Yes... For those pieces that won't fit the Redding #1 shell holder, they fit fine in either a RCBS #2 or a Hornady #2 shell holder. I don't consider the fit in either of the alternatives to be sloppy.

Also, I would like to report that out of the 501 pieces (yes, Shiraz was generous) delivered, only 3 had shoulder creases that caused me to reject them. That's a MUCH smaller percentage than my last 2 boxes of Lapua 6BR brass.

My rifle is still being built but, so far, I'm very very pleased.

All the shellholders in my Redding set work fine. Same story as everyone else on the rcbs ones. I really like the fact that it's only .001" shorter than my target bump number out of the box! Tested fine in both my mini 16 extractor rifles, I'll check some others in a while. I got the same numbers as Donovan on the measurements, I do wish they'd have hit the base dimension closer to what shiraz posted back about 100 pages.

Tom

Same as my bump number, 0.001" less..... sweet deal !.!.!

The base dimensions no doubt will optimally desire tighter chamber and die specifications. If they meet my primer and neck expectations, I will spec new chambers and dies to compliment the tighter base and longer neck.
Donovan

PS.... they don't work in none of my Reddings (the Reddings must have variances).

I fired the first 9 cases in my dasher. I trimmed back nine cases so I could go to the range, I started low and worked up to 31.3 gr of AA4064 with a Hornady 105 HPBT bullet. As the powder charge went up it seemed to start grouping. I need to load more and start getting groups, most of the rounds were only 2 with the same charge.

I got the same measurements as Donovan and Tom with a couple having deeper primer pockets that look like they were sand castings. From the 20 that I measured, 16 are at my bump with two .0005" long, one .005" short and one .001" short.
The extractors on my BAT B, Borden and Defiance Rebel bolts grab them when I push them on the end of the bolts.
They won't go into my modified RCBS shell holder but will go into another just like it as well as my Redding set. I will have to cut one down to .100" to work with my Harrells die.

I would like to have a good solid measurements on this new brass .200 ahead of rim of the case measurements with a set of mikes not vernier calibers.

Stan -
The measurements I gave were with a Micrometer (Fowler <> 0.00005")
Betting Tom's and Torge's were to.

With a mic. on 5 of mine pulled randomly, they are all right at .4679" - - consistently @ .200 forward of the base (end) of the case. Now Stan asked for .200" ahead of the rim of the case - - not sure if he means the same thing.

Crap! So they are smaller in diameter than Lapua?
