Norma 6Dasher Brass

why would they make the rim so thick? makes it stonger but creates issues.

As a Side note Norma 6.5X284 Brass was the same way for me. Lapua Brass worked great with no problems. Got some Norma Brass and had to fight it the whole time I had it. ( In a Stiller Predator action.) good brass just thick in the Rim Thickness.

I sent request to your company for the last 3 years never any response from your company I would like to see support from you for our national events considering the shooters in the dicipline I shoot are major contributors to your business.
Stan

And you are trying to shame me on a public forum into supporting your particular event?

1) Your issue has nothing to do with Dasher Brass so you should have sent a PM or started a new thread if you were so incensed.
2) We spend thousands of dollars supporting the shooting sport with free products at major matches etc. Perhaps you have never been to the Berger Match, or the F Class Nationals, or the many, many other events we sponsor. Just because your event was not sponsored does not justify your crass and poor attempt to shame our business on a forum.
3) I don't know what you mean by "shooters in the discipline are major contributors to your business". You think this is a big margin business? Quite often we sell things for under 10% over cost. If it wasn't for a labor of love there would be no bullets.com.

We get dozens of requests for donations a month............DOZENS! We cannot give to every organization that asks.

Got the new Dasher brass, big problem . The rim thickness of the new brass is around .059 compared to the old br brass of .048. Can't find a shell holder that the new brass will fit in. Can't resize them or primer them. What is the solution?
Also wondering if the extracted is going to grab it properly. What do we do?

I posted about this on Page 19 as a "heads up". We tried a Redding #2 and it works. However, Redding is making a special batch of shell holders for us specifically for the Norma Dasher, and those should be in stock in a couple of weeks. The extractor claws can be honed in a couple of minutes as we are only talking a few thousandths.

Most people are not having issues, but some shell holders are tighter than others, and so are some extractor claws.

FWIW - A Lee #3 shell holder works fine with this Dasher brass (i.e. it's the shell holder I use for 6.5x55 Swedish)

I found a #3 RCBS that is perfect. Some holders will work and some are to thin in the rim area.
Also, great job Alex.

My RCBS #3 shell holder (i.e. for .308, 30-06, etc) does not work with the Dasher brass, but the #2 RCBS shell holder does (i.e. which is the RCBS one for the 6.5x55 Swede and a number of other cartridges including the 30-30 Win). None of the shell holders I have for the 308 Win, 260 Rem, 243 Win, 30-06, etc work with the Dasher brass, but all the shell holders I have for the 6.5x55 Swede work fine. I think that's the same shell holder for a 30-30 so you can probably pick one up at the local gun store if you are stuck and need one a.s.a.p.

I've got a lot of Lapua brown box in 6.5x284 that I need to use the Swede shellholder on...so it happens to everyone.

A while ago, before this Norma brass was made, I chambered my barrel with a custom PTG reamer , .271, neck, .130 freebore, 1.570 case length. Last night, trimmed my norma brass to 1.565. Also, did a minimum clean-up turn on the neck. My cases really eject nice out of my Savage PTA.

We are modifying some shell holders in-house and may have some to ship today for those that have them on order.
