Hard click at top of bolt lift

We really need to consider having a senior forum section for the "older gents". Maybe even including a spelling/grammar guide line section. Some of these posts are to far out there to even attempt to read between the lines. Lmao. :D:D:eek:

All in good humor.;)

“The fact that are”? Again; I use bullet hold, I can measure bullet hold in pounds; all others use tension without a tension gage and no conversion chart for converting tensions to pounds.

F. Guffey

My error in omitting the word "YOU". (corrected in edit).
What does a tension gauge measure in? I've re-read your last sentence many times with no success in deciphering it. What is a "tension" that all others are using? You use bullet hold measured in pounds. Is there a 'bullet hold' gauge that you have?

1st is this a newer rifle, or has this just occurred in a older chamber, i have seen some dirty chamber jobs that have a slight grove near the case side at shoulder area once, usually will take 4 to 5 firings before it shows, if so u can either use a tighter die, or have the chamber re done,

I am shooting a 6brx...no hot loads...bolt not hard to lift but at top of lift has hard click...brass loaded 4 times now and annealed once after 2nd loading.. have a SB .308 die ...hate to resize the brass to far....???? thanks Neil

101 replies to answer one simple question. 101 different fixes???? Sounds like the CB radio days of the past. Some people want to comment on everything on this website.

Thought I'd stick to just the one post on this thread, but I just can't resist. It should be pretty obvious to everyone here at this point that the number of years reloading, has nothing to do with actual knowledge of reloading techniques/practices. I've been reloading since I was 16, so right at 30 years. I've learned a lot in that time, but the biggest kick in the teeth was when I started using custom rifles, and loading for competitive endeavors. That was roughly 10 years ago. The kick in the teeth was that I learned more about reloading in my first competitve year, than in the first 20 of playing with factory rifles with extremely generous chambers, and factory dies that have no problem sizing down the enlarged web/base. Not that I didn't enjoy every minute of that kind of shooting/reloading, but it's not at all the same as messing with minimum chambers, turned necks, etc. My point is that I know/have known many a reloader who have MANY more years of experience than I do, but they wouldn't have a clue as to the subject of this topic! Pretty sure at least one of them is posting on this thread...

That's a BIG 10-4 good buddy.

100% agree with you tightneck !.!.!

Competition breads excellence..... from the shooter, to the rifle, to the equipment, to advanced reloading.
My first taste was with Highpower which changed my reloading vastly.
Then I moved on to Benchrest, and wow-wee, was it ever a game changer in the reloading room.

Here I am janitor; in Russia I was physicist.
But I was exiled from Russia because I like to hold my bullet.
You could say holding my bullet caused much tension.
But not in pounds. That is old English money.
But now my bullet is full length died and for that I get nothing.
But then i wonder would bushing fix it?
Did you know popcorn not allowed in Russia?
Have you ever measure tension of corn when pop?
But no you didn't because only I can measure.

I don't care who you are....that's funny chit.

The kick in the teeth for me when I found out what tuners can do. And reloading was all about making the load the same.

Larry -
I sincerely hope you get out in the "competition world" and see how your load process and theorems prove out.
And hope you consider attending the 2016 IBS-1000 Yard Nationals coming up Sept 3 - 4 in Swainsboro, Georgia (a bordering state for ya !.!.!). If you attend and are competitive at it, would prove out how well your claims, rifles, process, tuner, and load work stack up against National competitors.
