Thicker neck reamer 6ppc , good, better or the same

guys I want to buy my own reamer for my 6 ppc, it is a .262 neck now. Is the trend going to a thicker neck these days? The big question, Is accuracy the same with thicker necks? I will be using new brass so it will be turned appropriately. Thanks for the help.

I switched from a .262 to a .268 neck two years ago. I have not noticed any change in accuracy. I have noticed in an increased ability in achieving more bullet seating tension. The real biggie is the much easier chore of turning case necks. I almost enjoy making cases now, not quite but close.

Some better shooter's than I may tell a difference. I have both and can't tell a difference in accuracy.
It's really a lot deeper than the reamer design. If the gun isn't competitive it doesn't matter. If the current barrel on a good gun isn't competitive it doesn't matter
After I work through the last of my 0081 brass I won't use the 262 anymore
A lot of the really good shooter's still use 262 and a lot use 268

I transitioned from .262 PPC chambers to .269 necks several years ago. I have not found any downsides to this change.

No accuracy advantage between a thicker or thinner neck. The advantage 0f a 268 over the 262 is you can generate enough grip/neck tension on a boat tail bullet to hold the bullet in place with hotter loads.

I switched because I was tired of having 5 different seating depths before I could get to the line to shoot. I went to a 268 years ago and never looked back!

The only reason we used a 262/263nk back in the old days was the brass sucked so bad thats how much you had to turn off to clean them up 100%. Now you can cut way less off and get the added benefit of more tension on the bullet.
