Savage lrp 6.5 creedmoor

I have a chance to pick up a lrp in 6.5 creedmor. I am not much of a savage guy but I have heard good things about them. I only question this rifle as there is no trigger warning on the left side of the reciever, and also the owner said his came with the cheaper stock so he added this hs precision. Did the early guns not have warnings? I have seen some guns on gun broker that had the cheaper stocks on them from savage. Can anyone enlighten me on this rifle? Thanks Richard 20160603_181757.jpg 20160603_181634.jpg 2016060395181604.jpg

I've owned two Savage 12 LRP's in 260 Rem, purchased early 2013. Both had a gold silk-screened warning along the left side of the receiver. Both came with flat black H-S Precision stocks (albeit slightly different versions, oddly).

From what I could see from your photos, the action looks like a Savage Target Repeater, which is exactly what comes on the 12 LRP. Perhaps you should count yourself lucky that the ugly warning is absent.

How many has he sent down the bore already ??? unless you're gonna swap the barrel anyways, I wouldn't buy it with out knowing.

Even with a lower round count, it's not hard to shoot out the throat in one afternoon with careless trigger happiness.

$300 Savage pre-fit
$30 barrel nut wrench
$30 ground recoil lug (optional)
$35 trued barrel nut (optional)
$30 forster go-gauge (2pcs of masking tape on the head of the go-gauge = >0.004" headspace, 1 pc of masking tape = >0.002" headspace)
$70 for wheeler barrel vice + $20 for wood bushings (optional cause you can make your own wood bushings and use a regular vice)

Yeah I got to thinking and I dont know a lot about it barrel life wise. He says only 100 rds. Just funny to me there is no warning on a gun with less rhan 100 rds through it. I may just have a 6.5 built on a remington action.
