Thought you guys might enjoy a couple of barrels fluted with some new coating technology that I am trying out. These are machined dry at 2750 rpm and 15 inches per minute. Straight off the machine with no polishing at all. Very impressive inserts in my opinion. 8 flutes on the barrels. Normal tooling is run at 538 rpm and 6 inches per minute. Enjoy.

Every cut has an opposing cut done at 180 deg. Barrels were polished after fluting and ran true. Just like every other barrel I have fluted. The secret is to make the cuts 180 deg. apart as Rustystud does. Never had a barrel returned for an accuracy problem in 5 yrs of fluting them, so I must be doing something right.
