AA 2520

I used to load it in my .308 and it was a very accurate powder and very easy to meter . I, like a lot of loaders, use RL15 , Varget , IMR 4064 &4895 . AA 2520 has not been around for a couple of years . Does anyone KNOW if they just discontinued making it or how I could find out ? Shot ,grouped, very well and metered VERY well and I used it for vol . loading . You could also buy it for $64/$68 for 8LBs .
 
PV shows 'in stock' on every single Shooter's World branded Lovex powder they carry both 1# and 8#. Maybe you have a cookie or cache issue with the PV website?
 
I don't know if they are made in the same plant, but a couple of months back I learned that there had been a fire in the Belgian plant that makes the powder that is sold as Xterminator, and Accurate 2230 (same powder). Evidently the plant was in the process of being rebuilt. I was looking for some powder for a friend who does not use computers. A very nice lady at Western Powders looked up recent purchases by distributors and I was able to locate a couple of 8's of 2230 for my friend. She is the one that told me about the factory fire.

Wow,

I hadn`t heard anything about this...............but I have been wondering what the heck is the hold up with 2230 and Xterm.

Now I know.....:(

Read an article about that awhile back, supposedly it wasn't that bad, and production wasn't supposed to be effected too much. Pretty much everything rifle and ball in the Ramshot brand and Accurate 2520, 2230, and maybe one or two more are made there and they've been in short supply even long before this accident happened.

At one point in time Western Powders sourced a few powders from Explosia/Lovex.
 
I have been very happy with the response I get from Western when I just get on the phone and ask to speak to a tech. They are nice, hungry for business and make a fine product. I bet a call would answer this question of=r give a near substitute.

A call to Western basically agreed with what was said above and added that A2520 as it will be named is expected in a FEW months . Gov. contracts will be filled first
