Paypal?

I had an awesome experience with them this weekend. I received $66 personal money from a forum sale on Friday and was planning on transferring it to my personal bank acct. yesterday. Sunday I made a business purchase off Ebay and selected my business card that's linked on PayPal to pay for it.

They took it upon themselves to use my $66 personal funds and then put the remainder of the balance on the business card. Really screwed up the keeping business/personal funds/purchases separate.

The lady @ PayPal who spoke decent English but was still hard for me to understand told me I needed to call the vendor and get it refunded. I told her to get on it they did it not me. I doubt they'll do anything. I won't be receiving any funds into my account again. I'd like to say I won't use them for Ebay purchases anymore but I know that's not true.

They aren't restricting non-regulated firearms related items. I don't have a PayPal account, but can certainly understand why they have chosen the route they have. We live in the sue crazy capitol of the world.

Why does it matter that you cant buy or sell guns from paypal or ebay?
Last I looked most businesses don't sell guns. Cant buy a gun from the grocery store down the street. Do you boycot them? Paypal or Ebay aren't in the gun business. I mean Damn, is this really what makes people upset? Seems to me there is alot more going on in this country than being upset about who sells guns and who doesnt
Just my opinion.

I keep getting emails from Paypal concerning my account with them, saying they are going to restrict my account etc. Problem is I don't have and never have had a Paypal account. Barlow

PayPal is anti-gun. Why would any of us use them for any reason?

PayPal . . . Liability issues is the reason for PayPal not allowing complete weapon purchases.

PayPal recently has changed and loosened their rules and regulations.

If someone mentions a purchase when sending money to a friend, they have filters to catch this. They will freeze your account. When you open your PayPal account, you agree to give them unbelievable access to you, your personal emails, and so forth if any fraud is detected.

I talk with local businesses and people Nation Wide. PayPal is about the safest and fastest way to receive and send money. If you're purchasing a product, it's best to use the purchase feature. This protects you. A gift, you're NOT protected.

NOTE: Most major banks are working on this application so you will be able to process transactions through your personal account. I don't know what the rollout date is, but it's in the works. This will be nice.

Credit Card & Money Order theft is rampant these days. Credit Cards is the 2nd best way to purchase your items. You just can't send money with your Credit Card. Try collecting your money on a lost or stolen Money Order.

If you follow the rules, you shouldn't have any issues. If you make several gifts monthly, with no purchases, this raises a flag with PayPal.

NOTE: Some Credit Card companies are refusing to process firearms purchases now.

Again, I know several who uses PayPal, and if you follow the rules and don't send too many gifts monthly, you should never hear from them again.

Someone mentioned above when money is in their account, they transfer it immediately to their personal checking account. I consider this good advice.

I'm on the USPS Money Orders from here on out. Take it to the bank and turn it into cash!

On large USPS Money Orders, the bank will hold them just like they do a personal check due to counterfeiting. I am stating this per my own personal experiences.

If anyone has a question, PM me, I will answer the best I can.

I have been using PayPal for almost 5 years plus with NO issues whatsoever. Just know the rules.

FWIW, Dennis

PS: The reason Banks are coming up with a similar app is because of the success of PayPal

Please read DennisH's post above. It states some very important points.

And as others have explained, this Forum does use PayPal to accept donations. Without a service like this, it would be very difficult to process donations efficiently, particularly smaller amounts.

As Dennis said, abide by the PayPal rules and you should find it to be an efficient way to transmit funds.

PayPal is anti-gun. Why would any of us use them for any reason?
Convenience. For example: I bought a new set of .308 dies sitting at my kitchen table this AM before I left for work......already shipped and I'll have them on Saturday. My alternative would be to wait til Saturday, drive 100 miles round trip and, just maybe, find what I needed at the nearest Bass Pro since I have no other sources of reloading equipment near me.

I also use PayPal to purchase household and shop items. It's quick, and safe, plus very easy.

Dennis

It works well for the buyer but they get their money from the seller. Pay for anything gun related and mention that in the description without it being a Ebay listing and transaction will be cancelled (I've had it happen for brass).
