Leupold VX-III vs VX

Looking at a used VX-III for sale and want to know if there is much difference btw the VX-III and the newer VX3. Anyone have any personal knowledge on this? Thanks.

I have 6.5-20x50's in VX-III and VX-3.... I can't tell a lick of difference between either.

Its my understanding from Leupold that the VX-3 has the twin Bias spring system with makes tracking much more accurate, whereas, the VX=III does not....

I thought the VX111 had twin coil springs in it. Matt

I could be wrong, but the latest model, the VX-3, is the Model that one of the Techs at Leupold told me had the twin springs in it. George

I own both and I can't tell a difference in how they perform, look or function.....

Thank you all for the help on this. I just called Leupold and talked with a tech. He said the difference between the Vari-X III and the VX-III and the VX-3 is basically the glass is better on each new generation. He also said there was no discernable difference in the springs on the three models. Some of the new model VX-3i are now available except for the 8.5-25x and it will be available this summer. They are supposed to have yet another improvement in quality of the glass. I passed on the VX-III I was considering as it did not have the reticle I wanted anyway and have decided to wait for a VX-3 or VX-3i with the target dot to come along. Thanks.
