Question on shooting bags

I was given a demonstration by a bench rest shooter on his rest/bag technique and he used cloths dryer fabric softener sheets and said they were "slicker than snot". I probably should not comment since I do not shoot bench rest and do not have first hand knowledge but he is a nationally ranked bench rest shooter so I will offer this for your consideration. One detail, he said the sheets he uses are used sheets.
Dryer sheets are super toxic.. If you want to inhale toxic fumes go ahead... Try putting one of them sheets in a jar with some bugs... I don't even use them on my clothing any more.. Research it on the net some it may change your mind..

Lots of folks used to use that silky doilie material back when slick bags were the in thing. Dryer sheets are more abrasive than them. I like stock tape, leather bags and shuffleboard wax or baby powder. I like em to slide but not freestyle

I know some guys that use them under their hats for bug repellant , that would explain a few things about them....
I don't shoot benchrest or nothing but I to can appreciate something slick under my rifle butt to shoot off of.. I'm thinking more like a dry lube spray on a certain material couldn't be beat.. Or try using a white Teflon board under the rear bag (so the bag doesn't grab concrete) plus spraying down the bag with Teflon or silicone.. For all you guys whom invested in a life time supply of boron nitride, sprinkle that over a service.. Just outside looking in..

Not sure that's the way to go. We generally want the rests as solid as possible and the rifle sliding on them. But the stock design must accommodate that by having straight areas for travel under it.

In benchrest, we NEVER want the rear bag to move under recoil....ever! The rubber shelf liner has a little bounce, and I do not find that to be desirable. I have tried it. 150 grit sanding screen (full sheet) works very well. Used drier sheets help, and see some use in competition. If you have leather bag ears, baby powder the standard lube. If your ears are cordura, silicone spray that dries is used, or teflon spray (Sailcote works).
My rear bag has sufficient grip on most concrete benches, but some are slick enough that I also use the rubber shelf liner.
The 1000 yard Nationals a few years ago in Missouri had slick top benches and my shelf liner material came in handy.
