Berger 105 hybrids in a 8 twist?

What has been your experience with Berger 6mm 105 hybrids in 8 twist barrels? The Berger stabilization software says the bullet is only marginally stable at 2800 fps and recommends a 7.5 twist. Thanks...

They really shoot in my 6xc at 2950-3000fps out of an 8 twist at sea level. No problems at all.

An 8 twist will work just fine.

I run 'em in an 26" 8 twist 4 groove Kreiger out of a 6x47 Lapua at 3150 out to 1400+ with nary an issue.......

I shoot them out of an 8 twist, 28" 4 groove Krieger in 6BR and I'd say they are at the edge of stabilization. I'm at sea level getting about 2850 fps if I'm lucky and I think a faster twist would be a good idea. Out of my Dasher they shoot better. I've changed over to Vapor Trails and am going to try 105 VLDs.

8 twist has always worked for me but I'm above 3,000.

Berger's recommendation of a faster twist is a recent change. They're also now recommending an 8 for the 7mm 180Hybrids - while nearly all are winning with a 9.

Im in Western Colorado and use the 105 Hybrids in a 6 BR at about 2850 with great success, Hart 8 twist. The last 600 yard F class I shot a 599 36X. I will be trying a Kreiger 8 twist .236 bore this coming season

I'm at sea level and my experience is this when shooting them in 6BR, 6BRX, 6XC. The advise given by Berger is right on. My rifles all have 1/8 twist barrels and my testing is done at 300 yds. Testing included several different powders and primers. At this range groups generally hovered around 1 1/2 to 1 3/4" showing there was some loss of BC due to barrel twist. In other words they didn't shoot bad in my rifles but they didn't shoot great either. For F class competition these bullets will not be competitive in my rifles. Sierra 107 MK's and Berger 105 VLD's produced much smaller groups at range for me. Many factors effect accuracy. Berger makes fine products. Just because this bullet didn't work in my rifles doesn't mean it won't work in yours. Just my .02 cents.

I have shot my 6mmBR with 105gr. Hybrids on some 600 yards matches at sea level at 2.810fps and it performed very well.
But never shot it a 1.000 yards...

I have this theory that when all the guys from out west or areas of 3,000ft above sea level or greater came over here to K&M for the first time last year, that the reason everyone of them seemed to be complaining about shooting low was because they mostly were using 1-8twist 6mm barrels.. They experienced lost BC shooting the 105gr Hybrid at 400ft elevation.. Add to that their load work up at the higher altitude giving them higher velocity.. Once they were down here all they wanted to blame it on was mirage...

I see a lot of 8 twist barrels shooting the hybrid at 1000. When you look at the holes in the paper, they usually are not round and small. That is an indication that they are not stabilized the way they should be. Matt

All I shoot are 8 twist. All three are Brux. All shoot the hybrid very well. Am doing another 2 compete dasher builds right now. Both with Brux 8 twist. I haven't ever had a complaint but these are limited to 600 yards.

To say a 1-8 twist 6mm barrel is fast enough twist for the 105gr Hybrid is like saying that all the new findings from Brian Litz book is wrong and the new long hybrid style bullets can't benefit from a stability factor greater than 1.5...

The 105 hybrids work fine in both my .243s to 1k. Kreiger in one, Bartlein in the other, both 1 in 8 twist barrels. Elevation changes match QuickTarget predictions, so they work for me. MV is at 3kf/s with both rifles, range elevation is around 350 feet. I found the last batch of 1500 to be shorter than nominal, and meplat trimming average out into two length groups, 1.322" and 1.332".
