Nice.
I love a BRX. Bought a used bat from Voldoc that had two BRX barrels.
I thought I would try the BRX out and rechamber to a Dasher. NOT!!!
May get another BRX.

You will enjoy your BRX, I have been shooting one for almost 5 yrs. I shoot from 100yds to 1000 yds and have had a lot of success with it. I shoot Varget, BR 4 primers, and106 EPS bullets. Still using the first 200 pieces of brass. I anneal after every 3 firings, I usually put about 2000 rds through a barrel, but the last one I shoot for 4000 and was doing well right to the end. I kept it in tune by bumping out my seating depth about every 400 rds and using my Bob Green tuner about once a month to verify accuracy. I have Bob's tuners on all but one of my competition rifles and consider them my secret weapon. My current load puts me at 2980 with SD of 8.

Hey Jeff, are you jumping or jamming those ESP 106 bullets?
Just recently got some from James, so a little help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary (aka dubya)

My BRX is one of my favorite rifles, and is very accurate. The barrel sit's on a Savage Action and F-Class Savage Stock. I just built a dasher and I am curious how it's going to compare to my BRX. I will post pictures after dialing it in.

Below is a picture of a 5 shot group. 3 are pretty tight. I have shot <.200 5 shot groups, but don't have a picture of the target.

Bob Siebold turned me on to the BRX and Ryan chambered the one he shot last year at the berger swn. Not sure about this year but I wouldn't see why he would change. I'm loving mine! I form mine with 29.4gr varget under 105amax and cci450s. It's consistant 1/3moa or better.

Sweet looking gun by the way!

Nice looking rifle! Welcome to the BRX world. I had two different loads that shot well for me in a .2704 necked chamber; 33.4 grains of Varget for early spring temps up to about 65 degrees, and 32.8 grains above that temp. The hotter load still shot well in the warmer temps, but primer pockets started to loosen quite a bit. CCI 450 primers were used in both loads. There are as many BRX shooters as there are Dasher shooters at most of our regional and state MR F-class matches. I am also a fan of the EPS 106 bullet, although the 105 hybrid works really well also.

Jam some cheap 105 Hornady or nosler bullets with about 28-29 grains of R15 or Varget to fireform and you will have a case you can compete with the next time at the firing line.

Very nice looking rifle. Starting to do a bit of research on the 6 BRX. Might end up building one for use between 300-500 and run a 284 or 284 Shehane from 600 outwards.

At 600 fire form loads are very competitive. You'll be amazed at how good they shoot! For fire forming I use a 107SMK and 30g of Varget and a nice soft Winchester primer. Take out your ejector if you have one while forming. Have fun!

Dubya, I shoot jammed. I start with a square mark from the lands then back up .003 at a time until I like it.

I've been wanting to get into the brx world myself,, but what has me scratching my head is what die's does a guy get. I'd like a bushing neck die, and could probably use my Redding body die when needed,, and for a good seating die? I'd like to run it on my arbor press. What are you guys using?

Dies ......, That's a good question. Their are the custom dies and they are very good, expensive but very good. A lot of the BRX shooters I know are converts from the straight 6BR and already have dies for this cartridge. What they have come up with is using a 308 die ( or 30/06, 243, 260, 7/08 ect ) minus the decamping stem to size the base of the BRX. Then use the 6BR dies adjusted for the additional .010 length of the BRX case. So instead of having a 3 die set they have a 4 die set.

Ok, I have the 6 br body die, .308 dies,, But I see Widden has a full length bushing die for 6 BRX,, but for a good seating die is where I would lack. More investigating.LOL

I'm wondering if L.E. Wilson could custom make a bushing and seating die with a couple of fire formed case's?

Run your reamer in a Wilson 6 BR seating die. Then use an arbor press. Matt

I use the Whidden Fl bushing die and their Microseater that comes in a set. Both excellent dies. I'm slowing changing over to all Whidden dies if the pocket book would allow.

I sent Wilson 3 pieces of 2X fired brass to make me a bushing neck die. I'm sure they can make a seating die as well.

Good news,, I still want to keep the regular 6 BR the same,, so I'll check with Wilson on the BRX die's.

Use a regular 6br Wilson seating die...won't hurt a thing. The sizing die you have two choices as jr600 said...either FL size w/ a 308/243/etc and 6BR or buy a 6BRX full sizing die. I have a Redding FL 6BRX sizing die because I didn't want to do two steps. But if I had it to do over I'd buy the Whidden, I just like his dies better.
