vortex viper question

Have any of you guys seen a vortex viper with an ebr 2 reticle in ffp BUT does NOT have the illuminated reticle? i dont know if they made any pst's non illuminated or not? im a little confused on what model it is .. any info would be great, thanks

I think the closest you're going to find is a Viper HS LR. That gets the FFP without illumination but a different reticle.

thanks jimbo i discovered that was the exact model that a friend of mine bought from cabelas out of the bargin cave in a weird deal in which the scope came in a pst 4-16 box.. by which we could easily see that was not what it was .. so it took us some searching to find it

this is correct. I have the HS LR in 6x24x50. non illuminated. on my 308 tactical

I have a similar issue. It seems like Vortex could do a better job of marking their scopes. What kinds of reticles are available in the HS LR?

Not sure what different ones they have but I know my friends has what's called xlr reticle which is sort of similar to the ebr 2 I think?

Their website is actually pretty good. You can see what feature and what reticle each line has.

BTW, vortex is releasing a couple of new models. The Razor HD LH line looks very interesting for a lightweight hunting setup, especially the 3-15x42.

Looks like the HS LR only has one reticle option for the FFP version, that would be the xlr:

The thing that gives me pause on the HS LR is the 1/2 min per click on elevation.

yeah i agree with you... but he figured for the deal he got he couldnt pass it up... i think he could get his money back easy enough.. but hopefully he likes it well enough

The scope you ask about is a Viper HSLR 4-16x50 FFP part # VHS-4313-LR Its not in their catalog for this year but Doug at cameraland is talking about a run of them.
