Who made the Action for David Tubb's Rifle in the DVD, One Mile Shot?

I've never seen this video so I am guessing, but standard Tubb rifles sport McMillan actions...

David designed his Tubb 2000,aka 'T2K') action himself, worked with McMillan to manufacture the completed rifles & make them available to the shooting public,I think back in 2001 or 2002).

They come up for sale once in awhile but don't stay that way too long unless the asking price is way out of line.,There's one for sale right now here in the Classifieds)

Up until a couple of years ago they were available exclusively thru McMillan but were then picked up by Creedmoor Sports.

It's been a few years since I saw that video, but wasn't it pre-T2K? If so, then the action was a Gilkes action,the original, fat-body aluminum version).

You may be entirely correct German; I've never seen the video myself either.

Weren't too many of those aluminum actions made either; I shot with Trevor Hengold back in 2006,shot right well with it he did that day too, as always!) & that's what he was shooting that day. Were those made by Tony Gilkes or were they made up after Mike Ross took over production?

You'll be fortunate indeed to see one of those for sale - aluminum or steel - anytime soon. They're quite a bit rarer than a T2K & coveted by those who have one... or more.

Steve, they were made by Tony Gilkes by himself. I was offered two left-handed ones about 7 years ago and didn't have the money. Still regret not selling a kidney.

Tony came to Meadowview, VA in 1996 and stayed until the early 2000's where I had the pleasure of manufacturing his actions and learning from him before he joined up with Ross. I currently have 5 actions and 2 rifles that was built during that time along with countless extra parts. Last I talked to Tony, he told me he could no longer shoot because of a stroke, broke my heart.
