What is a great handgun forum?

Just joined the local pistol club and I know nothing about handguns or handgun reloading so I’m looking for recommendations for the handgun version of the accurate shooter forum.

Smith&Wesson forum probably contains the largest collection of knowledgeable, helpful and overall in general nice people hand gun wise...well, at least they did as of a few years ago. The problem was the management. The cat that runs that show has a raging stiffy for anything political. I typed the name "Hillary" in a post, not in reference to the queen and honestly not political at all. I don't even remember what it was about now. I got locked out and was told I "needed a few days off to think about political posts". Needless to say a few days turned into years and I am still thinking about it.

Well that sounds like a plan. I wasn’t about to rush off the Smith&Wesson forum if they treat you like that.
I’d still like to find a reasonable one just to read up one stuff I need to learn but I’ll ask here for all the specifics.
Cheers

The high road forum has a considerable amount of handgun enthusiasts.
Decent people and knowledgeable

I like Sig Talk. It is mostly sig specific, but has a generic section and a lot of guys that shoot more than just Sig. The reloading section would be generic by nature. I generally find the people very friendly and helpful.

"IF",and that's a big'un.... you decide to go with cast, you can check out the several, sorta dedicated cast sites as well.

I use to hang out on the S&W forum years ago,and one of the 1911 sites. New folks come into any gun community and bring new ideas, projects, and stuff. Sometimes the process is pretty seamless, other times, not so much. Just have to learn patience and politeness and be willing to move on if the place doesn't suit.

Agree with above though on asking here, this site has to be one of the richest, and deepest knowledge base sites going. We may not go into the volumes or minutiae of details on handguns but questions do get answered by some pretty dedicated shooters. We also keep a nice balance of hunting, sporting, and BR work. Good luck, and practice. Handguns have to rank as "the" highest for required practice to keep razor sharp. Dry fire,AND live.

Sigforum is another. Allot of intelligence not much kiddy stuff allowed without reprisal.
But it's highly political in the lounge. Practically a news repeat & discussion.

Ok, so I have to go through a probationary period with the club before I can do much but I’ll need to buy something in the next several months.
My thoughts at this stage are a Glock 34 MOS Gen 5 which are $1799 here so whatever I get it’s a decent chunk of cash.
To me this is a good option as a beginners gun that I can grow into. And 9mm ammo is pretty cheap compared to say 45 ACP.
Thoughts?

SigTalk would be my preference too. Mostly just a lot of good information on handguns in general without a lot of insults, and Sig specific threads abound. A LOT of the Sig lovers also have other brands too, me included. It's like this one and pretty friendly. Sig Forum can get a little nasty (not ever to me personally) sometimes, so I rarely even look in there any more. Just like the motorcycle forums, boat forums, car forums, etc., etc., etc., there are good ones and not so good ones.
