UPS IGNORANCE

Back in the Day
Yes I called this total and complete ignorance on UPS part. I was supposed to receive this order from Midway 3 days ago. All three days this is what I have seen in my email tracking "FOLLOW MY DELIVERY" only to wait and watch until 10 00 PM each nite and then over in the nite towards 12 00 A M they change it to say "Order will be delayed 1 business day." But the first day was even more stupidly insane because the driver pulls up at my driveway and parks for 15 mins at least. I finally walk out to him just to have him tell me he could not find my package on the truck and he will be back later on that nite with it once he delivers other stuff in the way. He never showed up of course. This is totally unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. I was on chat with Midway earlier this afternoon and they said they have no clue what could be going on. I told them they need to get a better delivery service.

Yeah, but FEDEX is POS also! Have a package shipped Monday from Idaho to Colorado. All week said it would be delivered by 9PM tonight. at 1:14pm got a email from FEDEX. No attempt of delivery. Called FEDEX, first was told it didn't make on the truck this morning. finally asked to speak with a Manager. was finally told they didn't have enough packages to make a run today.
I'm 50 miles east of Denver. Promised to be delivered tomorrow by noon We'll See.

Had that happen and it was delivered the next day.

I'm having a similar issue with UPS/USPS. Midway shipped my order via UPS. UPS delivered my package to the wrong post office! It was supposed to be delivered on Monday. It's now 5 days late and no idea where or when it will be delivered.

Oh yea, I've already been thru that with the idiotic SURE POST crap as well.

Dont even get started on DHL. Some of the lamest, sorriest excuses for not delivering before close of biz......such as "Well, we didn't have enough going your way...." This is 8 miles outside of Beaufort, SC, MCAS Beaufort, Naval Hospital Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot Parris Island. Not exactly a backwater.....
How do you build a biz without servicing the biz you have?
Wow, didn't realize i had that buried.

As stupid as it may seem to us when they drop the ball..UPS, FedEx and USPS all do a remarkable job of getting it right, percentage wise, and they do it for near or less than what it costs me to drive to my mailbox, 3/8 of a mile away. To say they are busy during this pandemic, is a huge understatement. I think they are doing a great job and are at a high risk of catching this crap while doing it.

I get it...when they screw up..it's the end of the world, but really, they are extremely efficient at what they do and are essential, while many are still on the couch in the safety of their home, drawing a check.

I'm not saying that applies to the op but that the shipping services are carrying a big load at this time.

I totally get that. But what's going on with this junk here is just simply uncalled for. If they don't have my package they should just say it's lost and be done with it.

I don't know how much is ignorance and how much is apathy. I worked for UPS through college and they were hard core about every package. Fast forward 25 years, and I am out of work, trying to get on at ups again. they were lucky if the packages even got close to the trucks they belonged in, and even the supervisors would just stand there and watch boxes falling 10 feetoff the conveyor to the concrete.

Amazon isn't UPS 's "priority" They actually don't like them. That's why you see "Surepost" packages.
Amazon wanted a cheaper price delivered and UPS came up with it. UPS picks up and delivers it to the closest
post office and they deliver it to the home. UPS can dump a bunch of Amazon pkgs. at one place, just like
a big business. It will delay the delivery by a day or so. Fed-Ex uses this also, they have a different name.
I know I delivered for them for 35 years.

Twice now I have had this happen with Fedex that a package says online it was delivered to the front porch at XX:XXpm and it wasn't, I have been working in the front yard while waiting for it. The 1st time it was delivered about 4 hours later but the 2nd time it was an expensive laptop so I was working on my car and I get a text on my phone that it was delivered... WTH ?? So I'm on the phone with a CS lady who is looking at my house on Google earth and the street view and she is asking if my house has any distinguishing features from the other houses, so I tell her "yes, the big address sign on the driveway". I can tell I am getting nowhere so when she asks what color it is I tell her I'm not sure because I'm color blind. It showed up 2 days later and despite several calls, online chat, and emails I never got a response.

The UPS trucks that deliver freight where I work are loaded with the smiley Amazon boxes and they aren’t being delivered to the post office. I have yet to have USPS deliver something ordered from Amazon to my house, it is always delivered by UPS.

sure post is the biggest pile of bovine excrement in NA.

I bought a SIG Legion a couple weeks ago, and despite their website saying three magazines, they are actually shipping with one, and this enclosed card, to be redeemed at SIG for the other two. I rattled their cage, asked why they were advertising three mags, and only shipping one. CS answer finally boiled down to screwing the customer to keep selling Legions, in lieu of not shipping the guns until they had three to stick in the box. I get an Email saying they shipped my two magazines on the 14th sure post. I click on the tracking number, and "due to weather issues, your package is not scheduled to arrive until May 29th...". I respond to that asking why sure post says 2-4 days, and it is now due two weeks after shipment from SIG. Have not heard back about that little mess. Sure post, two weeks from NH to Idaho.

Unfortunately, Mec-Gar does not offer SIG magazines. I bought several for my Beretta M9A3 about the same time, and AIM Surplus sent them USPS Priority. Third day, they hit the mailbox. I ordered six for my FNS9mm, same three day Priority delivery. Supposedly, the same company makes magazines for all three brands.
bastards, with a small b.

I had an order from Brownell's get lost in the Nashville location, watched it sit there for about 3-4 days on the tracker. Took about 3 emails and two phone calls with Brownell's to finally get a replacement order shipped, which made it to me w/o issue. I usually get stuff a day or two before the "anticipated" delivery date, and most stuff is delivered by the local USPS carrier. Now, the carrier has left a box from Midway on the porch because it won't fit in the mailbox, and leaves the smaller envelope stuff in the mailbox (2 stops IMO), and they have stuffed boxes into the mailbox that takes a few minutes to get out as well. Go figure.

Our local USPS has a "dedicated" carrier for packages on some days, that's all they deliver, while other carriers do the mail, depending on volume I guess.
