TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

The problem in every state is complacency and knee jerk reactions. A lot of people here were complacent about voting for Ted Cruz because of a lot of reasons not the least of which was the last presidential primary which was pretty heated. Beto is a charismatic ass and got the attention of the liberals in our state. Just about all the metropolitan areas are liberal or liberal leaning; look out Ft Worth. The city council already has just about killed the gun shows. The Will Rogers FtW show costs twice as much due to parking fees and they no longer allow powder or primers. The last Market Hall show in Dallas was a shell of what it once was. We couldn't even get a conservative black minister to replace one of the longest running idiots in congress from south Dallas, Eddie Bernice Johnston.

Austin has always been uber liberal due to the college and the hippy contingent. Houston is liberal and getting worse. Somehow by quirk of fate or miracle Sheila jackass Lee keeps showing up in congress and making a complete fool of herself and the city. That's how the libs have taken over just about every state they hold now.

I have no answers except vote and quit the carping about people that don't shoot your preferred caliber or contest. Work on family, friends and neighbors to get them to vote conservative. And last since we're probably going to have to suffer another six years of John Cornyn write him and try to make him understand that we're tired of "the way the Senate works" because that's why we voted for Trump.

Back to the gasoline price OP, Opec ended it's deal with Russia yesterday and ARAMCO, Saudi Arabia's state run producer, slashed prices by $4 to $8 dollars/BBL and upped production. This will significantly cut revenues to tax heavy states like Kalifornia, who'll no doubt be increasing other taxes to make up for the shortfall. It will also further hurt the Russian plutocracy based government. More bad news for Russian citizens struggling to survive.

Here in Texas, gasoline prices should remain low, minor market manipulation by Wall Street notwithstanding.

Truth there. The guys behind the curtain are very adept at keeping the public distracted with " hot button issues". Has there ever been a time when you heard a reporter say " Not much happening today. It's pretty peaceful and all is well. "
Meanwhile, they're picking out pockets.
Look at the issue of Health care. There's a big push for "Government run health care". The current "laws" say Medicare is "Not allowed" to negotiate with the drug companies. Kinda convenient for the big drug Kingpins!
If "they" manage to implement "Free Health Care for all", they'll be able to take whatever they want out of our pockets.

With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, you can see big business influence in politics. There was no provision for driving down costs by contract negotiation, so Providers and suppliers were free to raise prices willy nilly, and they did. A clear example of money corrupting politics. Dems wanted lower prices, Repub's support profits, in the end a deal was struck but it wasn't as good as it could be for the consumer. Medicare included.

Talking points by Presidential candidates are just that, talking points. Congress will be making any law changes to health care, whatever form it will take, and right now the left and the right aren't talking to each other, so nothing changes unless or until the two sides start doing the job they were hired to do and negotiate in the best interests of WE THE PEOPLE.
Democracy will remain on the sidelines until we stop the influence of big money in politics.

Do they still have blue laws in Texas?
I remember as a kid you couldn't buy toilet paper and paper towels on Sunday.

Or anywhere for that matter it is more important than ever to get out and vote! Remember Virginia!!!
Is there a state that is trending in the right direction? Just one? Might be but I don’t know which one. I know that Wyoming is still good but that crap is creeping in. And people always think “can’t happen here “. Too much “free” crap getting peddled. Enough people depend on “free” stuff and the deal has been made. Then the bill arrives. Human nature exploited. The gov cannot give anyone anything without first taking it from someone. You watch.

According to the innerweb, it was stated that they were cleaned up in 1985, but it seems it was before that.
Stores can be open 7 days a week for household needs as well as eating establishments.
Some have been modified. No spirits sold on Sunday. Beer and wine sales start at noon on Sunday.
Car dealerships can only be open 6 days a week. Some are open M-Saturday others are open Sunday- Friday.

I liked Germany. All retail stores close from noon Saturday until Monday morning
No 18 wheelers are allowed on the Autoban on Sunday. Also closed to 18 wheelers on holidays.
Restaurants open 7 days a week.

If a store wants to be open or a truck on a highway then that’s not up to the government. I like America, or what it was anyway.

Guess that Texas map was drawn by a Californian!o_O

Local gas station has unleaded down to $1.71 now, and no end to the Russia-Opec stand off in sight.

At some point the price relationship between crude and mo-gas will be severed. When that happens, you can be sure Wall Street has started to game the gas blend commodities board again as we saw in 2008 when unleaded gas went over $4.00 in Texas, and much higher in other states. Prices will be all over the map when that happens, and even once crude prices stabilize, mo-gas will continue to be a source of fast, easy profit for Wall Street. Me thinks the era of stable gas prices has some to an end.

$4.00 gas in Texas? I must have been asleep.
