Since there is no more Wolf small rifle magnum primers to be bought, what primer have you guys replaced them with ?

Rem 7 1/2 is my fall back position most of the time, but others including the Federals and CCI have worked for many applications.

I would try anything you can get your hands on . You never know what will work best with a given load and rifle . I usually settle with Remington 7 1/2s but have some loads that prefer CCI,Fed, and Win .

I find CCI 450 to work well in my Dasher and .308 Palma Brass .
I still have a few Wolf SRM ? They did Fail to go off in my Dasher and .308 F/TR ???
The do well in my AR Match Rifle !!!

Back up Supply Fed. 205M

I tuned all three of my competition rifles, a 6brx, 6.5 x 47, and 6ppc for low ES this year by trying every primer out there. Results were 1 to 5 ES. Accuracy stayed the same with all three. The same primer gave the best ES in all three. A primer I had never used before. Go figure. It was Fed 205M. I was amazed but have switced to it in all three rifles.

In my Palma brass 308 I got lowest ES with S&B.... cheapest I could buy at the time so I stocked up when they were on sale. Cabelas seems to have quit carrying them I noticed?
Glad to hear folks are liking Rem 7 1/2's... I moved all my reloading stuff to my new man cave and just recently found a wooden wine box that had 18,000 Rem 7 1/2 I forgot I had:D

Just an FYI for those who are 'set' on one primer or another being the 'best'... it can vary wildly lot to lot. Usually not, but it can.

By way of example, a few years ago I was using CCI 450s in my Palma brass behind Berger 200s. Load shot respectably well at one event, but I was pretty much out - so I swung by the local sporting goods store and picked up two 100ct boxes to hold me over til I got a larger quantity ordered, and loaded up ammo for day one of the state championship that weekend. By the end of day one, I'd shot my way to the bottom, due in large part to the ~8 ring vertical I was seeing on target. So I packed up, drove two hours home, and started testing. The existing load shot a nice tight group @ 300, so nothing obvious there. Then I chrono'd 5 each of the same load with the current lot of 450s, some BR4s and Wolf primers that I had on hand.

The 450s showed an SD/ES of 18/44, vs. 4/10 for the Wolf (the BR4s were close behind at 5/11). Might not be a 'statistically significant' sample suitable for publishing in a scholarly journal  but I was pretty sure I'd found the problem.

Took the same load back for day two, and clawed my way back to 2nd place.

TLDR - test *every* lot/batch, don't just assume that they'll perform the same as the last ones you had.
