Is the ratigan model the preferred one for bench rest shooting? The rifles are under 14 pounds. Or does it not matter. Thanks.
Jerry. If you scroll down on this Competition forum to where member M99 started a thread on the NEO all your questions that you have will be answered. Sebastian answered everything about the differences between the Bishop model and the Ratigan and what weight rifles that each one is set up for.
If you shoot mainly for benchrest, the Ratigan is better / smoother. It does not matter your rifle is 14 lbs or 40 lbs, you only need to use a correct counterweight. seb
Thank you SEB. If I buy the Ratigan model and use rifles from 8 to 14 pounds do I need to change the weight or will one setting work? I was thinking the standard model would be easier to use in my situation. Am I correct? Thank you.
For 8 to 14 lbs gun you would only need the included counterweight. Only adjust the front "ring" back and forth for 11-14 lbs gun (no tool is needed). You might probably need to remove the front ring for 8 lbs gun.
