RL-15 in 6BR

Has anyone tried RL-15 with the 88-95 gr. bullets? I'm using 30.3 Varget in a trued 700 with a 24" Spencer 8 twist barrel now. Looking for other options. Thanks to all . This site is a great wealth of information.

this load is safe in my rifle. 31.0 gr. rl-15, 87gr. vmax. it runs right at 3100 fps. krieger 1-8 twist, 28" bbl.

I've tried 28-31gn Re15 with 90gn Lapua Scenars (Lapua brass and Fed 205M or CCI-BR4). Accuracy was not as good as with VarGet, but this barrel (1-8" twist Border heavy target profile) doesn't like 90s or 95s as much as 105-107s so that may skew the results anyway.

I've also tried Viht N140, N540, and N150 with the 90gn Scenar and none did as well as VarGet. If you can't get any, may I suggest H4895 as a better alternative for this bullet weight rather than Re15. 28-30gn H4895 below the factory moly'd ('Silver') Scenar gave good if not outstanding results for me, certainly the best I got with this bullet weight. 30gn was just over 2,900 fps with the moly bullet, so was quite mild and I could have tried going up a bit.

I have had good luck with RL15 in my BR. It is an 8 twist Spencer Barrel and shoot a 103 bullet. I have not shot any lighter bullets but the 103 -105's should do well. Good Luck.
