PPC bolt face diameter

I've built a batch of PPC bolts, that don't want to eject. Chamfer is good, extractor is good, so I'm thinking bolt face diameter. They're currently .447", but they seem to be a little sticky on the ejection, but eject freely with the bolt held in the vise.

is the ejector free and not sticky or bound up, did you remove any spring coils, did you face off bolt face ???

looks good, yes a bigger chamfer would help. also look close at the bottom of c'bore there is a small step. it should clear radius on case but I would double check to make sure its not grabbing....

Back in the day, when people converted Remingtons to PPC for Bench rest by installing a Sako extractor; the front of the bolt was usually shortened so that the recess was only about .125 deep. This allowed more support to the case which was needed because the old .220 Russian had a thinner case head than other cartridges. This may not relate to your issue because there are a number of things that can affect ejection. In any case, more chamfer is probably needed.

I had thought about that as well, but I'm thinking it's a chamfer issue. It'll eject a loaded round(with bullet) but an empty just doesn't have the weight to overcome that chamfer, that's what I'm thinking.
