New varmint bullets from Sierra

The ammo must be really new because component bullets aren’t even listed on their website yet. A heavy .22 varmint bullet is way overdue. And the 36 grain 20 cal bullet might be a real hit in 1-12” twist barrels. Hats off to Sierra for paying attention.

Thanks for sharing this Tommie,I always thought a 36 poly tipped bullet in 20 cal would make sense as it splits the difference perfectly between the 32 and 40.Thinking the VarTarg guys would love it.Still got some of the old Berger 36 grain MEFs from years ago, just mess around with them in the 5mm Craig as the b.c. isn’t too hot.Glad to see Sierra is on the ball, one day maybe we will see a 50 grain poly tip as a component.

I still wish Sierra would make a 40gr BTHP scaled down off of the Sierra #1390 .22cal BTHP...would really be a great coyote bullet.

Amen on publishing boolit lengths. Sure would be much easier to ID all those Blem Boolits l got from MidWayUSA and Natchez Shooters last year;-)

Maybe they came around, like Berger did, when enough people told them their target only 69gr Tipped MatchKing worked amazingly on varmints.

Hmmm...both of those bullets are very interesting to me. I run Sierra 70gr HP flat base varminter bullets in my 6mm Rem and 6 Creed with excellent results. Also run the 39gr BK in a couple 20 cals with top notch accuracy. So the 69gr and 36gr BKs would fit perfect. Just hope they bring the price down on the 20 cal BKs.

You did notice that the 69 grainers are .22 caliber, right?
