New Texas member with grendel question

So im not new to reloading. I have a dillon 650 i use for .40 for uspsa, BUT I am new to rifle loading. I just built a 6.5 grendel. I have 2 different single stage presses, a good set of dies and all the case prep tools. Looking for a source of once fired brass and a recommendation on what powder to use.

Welcome Jerry! You’ll get some feedback. You have to let a question “simmer” for a while, here. Some guys are busy, some guys are shooting and some guys are napping. I don’t shoot that cartridge, otherwise I’d help.

where you are from doesnt matter to me,,,you wont find much used or once fired brass for a grindll,,,and you dont want used anyway,,,Rx-15 and H-4895 are hard to beat in that cal.....Roger

Fans (and detractors) here of that cartridge, but maybe you’ll be better served if you point your browser-of-choice at: 65grendel.com

Great advice from spclark!
Once you become a member there you can respond to Forum Posts for New and Once fired brass that comes up for sale occasionally. What brand of brass are you wanting? Lapua and Hornady are the two most popular with Hornady being about half of what Lapua costs. Sometimes you can find new Hornady on sale at Midsouth Shooters Supply for a little more than what once fired sells for. A lot of guys are buying Hornady American Gunner ammo at Sportsmans Warehouse. It's been a while since I checked prices but it used to be around 70 cents a round and comes in a 200 round plastic box.

There are a lot of powder choices that work well in the 6.5 Grendel. It depends on what bullet you use and what you want to use it for ( hunting / target ). The 6.5 Grendel forum has a Ammunition and Reloading section with lots of info. There is a member there that sells a couple of books, 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbook Volume I & II that are handy to have.

I forgot, Starline is now making 6.5 Grendel brass also.

Also can't help with once fired brass; bit I do have some powder recommendations. This site has a great cartridge guide to get you started; and we can help procide suggestions once yoy a pick a weight range of bullet and end use goal (ex. hunting, target, plinking, etc). Others do it; but personally I'm not a fan of Grendel using over a 135gr bullet, and I'm sure going to miss Sierra's 85gr.

I run sarline and hornady brass in my gas guns and lapua brass in my bolt.
For 123 gr bullets i would start with CFE223 and Imr 8208 with cci 450's
As stated above the 6.5 Grendel forum has a bunch of info and used brass for sale occasionally

I got a bunch of starline grendel brass that i got with a certificate. I love starline brass but the grendel brass has a large flash hole. Unless youre using it for serious benchrest the starline is the best brass for the money
