New 3" Bag rider for Picatinny Rail Design

I am going to work on on a version that would bolt flat to any handguard using MLOK or KEYMOD.

I have the dimensions for MLOK as being an M5 fastener. I assume the Keymod is the same?

OK, here is the MLOK or Keymod direct bolt on version. Should work with both version of the RPR as well as any other front tube with a flat on the bottom with either MLok or Keymod.

It is 6" long and 3/4" thick. I will not provide fasteners, but it appears that there are two types, #10-24 and M5. This will work for both.

Ok here are the final designs.

I have three bag riders (or I will). All will work with just about any flat rail type handguard.

The blue on the low profile picatinny and the screws straddle the rails exactly like a scope mount. The silver one is a picatinny that slides on from the end. And the black one will work on any Mlok or Keymod handguard with a flat face.

I’m really liking the blue one. I think the lower profile will help with the rifle trying to torque in the rest. Here is the original version mounted on my AR.

I'm making a quick detach 4" bag rider that attaches to my Area 419 Arca rail. I can maintain a very low profile using the Arca. Should work very good.

Was also planning on making a couple picatinny bag riders for AR rifles, but it's not worth my time and materials if I can buy a nice solid bag rider like that for $35 plus shipping. That's an excellent price! ;)

Awesome. I agree the lower profile would help, but I was only able to take out about half an inch of height .

The advantage of this one is that it simply slides on in seconds.

But the scope mount type would be stiffer, but more difficult to install. Both would be useful.

I agree! I had dabbled with a few designs myself but I’m really liking urbanrifleman’s stuff. This thing is lightweight and yet rock solid. It fits the rail like a glove and tightens down very secure.

OK here we go!!! One of the guys sent me a pic of the 3" picatinny that is used mostly on handguard where the bipod goes. It is 3" long and 7 slots.

So I modified the new low profile version to 5" long and it uses 7 slots apart on the attachment bolts.
