Im told that August 26 was National Dog Day so I thought about my little buddy ( Dickens) that didn’t make it back from Montana a couple months ago.
It’s amazing how much we care about these guys and how empty we feel when they’re gone.

SPJ, I am a hard old bastard, except for dogs and little kids. Adults I have no use for unless they are buying in my store. Otherwise, they tend to be dishonest and deceiving. Dogs are completely honest and love us unconditionally. After I lost 2 within 3 months, I got Ella, 2 years later I got Bodie. They go to work with me 4 days a week. They give me constant love and joy as I'm sure Dickens did. Get another one soon, it's worth it.

Yes they will. Little Imps is what they are. They lead with their nose and mouth so have to be careful walking the because of copperheads. Don't need that vet bill. Neither of them have any recall, they will come back to you when they are ready. I use leads on both. Bodie wants to take on every 2000 lb. Bull he sees going and coming from work. Ella barks at everyone that comes in the shop in a hurry ( terriers don't like spazzy folks ) so I use a collar. I generally just have to vibrate or tone it to get either ones attention. Ella needs convincing when the UPS man shows up. She hates UPS, Fed EX, ect. Don't know why - noisy is my guess.

My Dog Norman who is my very best buddy is going down hill and it is very hard to deal with. I don't know if I can get another when he is gone. He has given more love to me than I can return in 2 life times. I feel your sadness losing our best friends.

Losing a dog is hard on a person.... I have one Heeler left (Petunia) out of three, she is blind and old. I will miss her badly. The best dog I ever had in my life was her father, his name Turbo Jet. The mama, Ruby Red. Almost every dog I've owned in my life was from 8 weeks to the end of their life span. We have a chocolate Labrador named Penny, she will be 3 at Thanksgiving time, she is a hoot. When Petunia goes we're not sure if there will be another. Heartbreak is tough.
