I'm trying out a couple of new patterns.

    What do you think?

Price is same as the rest, $50 plus shipping.

Not a sale or limited time offer, just my everyday price.

I think the spiral pattern is a bit crowded.

So I did one with a few less flutes.

Is there a advantage to fluting, or just bling and a lil weight loss ?

    thanks Link

Absolutely there is. Fluting helps grind up/remove material from the bolt surface allowing for freer operation and less bind

Mostly though, its purely for looks.
When did you EVER see a BAT or BORDEN benchrest rifle that had trash on the bolt?
Guys (and Gals) like the look.
It might reduce surface to surface contact BUT.... in a repeater action, you can get ratcheting effect between the rounds in the magazine and the fluting on the bolt.
