How to polish a Panda action?

JRS,
Thanks - I'll do that.

Joe,
I started with Tripoli, followed with White Rouge. Maybe the White Rouge alone would have worked? (see picture, below)
BTW, I did not use what is gone from those sticks! Those are old, and I have used them for many things. I may have used about 1/8" worth of compound from each stick for the action.

Then, U used a rag with "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish", but it was sort of messy, so I switched to "Barrett Jackson Chrome & Metal Polish", and that one worked fine and was easy to use.

Thx!

Good Man Alex. Good info for everyone considering a Kelbly action.

You are right, even with the mill finish there isn't much to be concerned about, but the extra TLC doesn't hurt either.

I should mention that there were two things I did not polish: the bolt release and the bolt handle. The bolt release is kind of small to hang on to (but do remember to remove it to polish the action), and I did not want to disassemble the bolt to polish the handle. The bolt handle has a sand blast finish, so it would require a bit more work. They look fine as they are anyway.

Your local jeweler can take care of the small items, Alex. They use buffers designed specifically for small items;)

You just use a hard felt wheel and be careful on the facets. Theres a polish i use called heavy metal polish if you dont have a large buffer you can do by hand
Bingo! I do all my Panda’s, Seb Neo, golf clubs and anything else stainless that needs polishing.

As you may know once you spend a ''lot of time'' on polishing something to look like a mirror it takes more time to keep it looking like ''that'' . If you have a glued action it 's a pain to try and work around the stock edges.
As a alternative have you thought of spray bomb with Rhino bed liner? :}
