It is not>>>>visually you can see that IMR 4350 has considerably longer kernels for powder. IMR 4350 is "generally" a half of a shade faster (depending on lot to lot) than H4350>>>>but they are very close in burn rate..I have read several articals that state H4350 & IMR4350 are the same powder now since Hodgen own the IMR name. Load data is the same for both. Does anyone know for sure if this is correct?
You need to try RL-16... It is in the same burn rate as either IMR 4350 and H4350. It is very temp stable, will give 40+f.p.s. increase in velocity and in my limited experience, gives very low e.s.'s with the right load.Having A hard time finding H4350 to load for my new 6XC
Be nice to have these Powder Company's back in the US!!
Thanks John
NOTE: RL-15 and RL-16 are NOT the same powder nor even in the same burn rate range. H4831 is slower burning than H4350..Thanks,
I have R15 & H4831sc Powder.
GD Valleyfield has recently introduced IMR-4451 which is a modern higher-technology and shorter-cut powder in the same general class as the two 4350s and which is claimed to be exceptionally unaffected by temperature change as well as being 'greener' having lost various carcinogenic chemical components and also has an anti barrel fouling additive in the recipe.
