happy birthday Jesus

For any of the members of a different think, a REAL (Not Man Made one) rock star was born on December 25. Sir Isaac Newton. (He's the guy that wrote down, in math, how we can get our bullets to fly where we want them to go, from a very long distance away).
A lot of religions hold December 25 in high esteem. There is a constellation of stars named the cross. On December 23, the Sun seemingly stops. Right at the point of the cross constellation intersection. On December 25 however, the Sun seems to start move again. But this time, the movement is in the opposite direction, signaling springtime, warmth, and more light for the crops to grow. So all religions plagiarize themselves off of each other.
So, the following statement is true. The Sun, it died on the cross. It was down for 3 days, only to rise agin into the heavens. Learning how different religions come and go is a hobby of mine. Some people, (A Lot of People) take their religious tales too seriously.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

You have an interesting hobby, 370bc. I hope it brings you comfort. jd

It does give me comfort in the idea that more and more will hopefully ask themselves the same question scientists ask themselves on a continuous basis: ‘What if I’m Wrong?’
Most religious people however do not want to ask themselves that question.

When I think of how our sins put Him on the cross, my eyes get wet with tears! Our Lord and Savior died so we could live! THANK YOU JESUS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMEN!

That is true even of Christianity and in a way you are correct in mentioning plagiarism although synchretism would be a better choice. Western cultural Christianity is quite guilty in adding customs, once considered pagan, to their religious calendar. That is why for example you have Christian "saints days" to replace days considered sacred to mythological heroes and gods. However these are not found in the scriptures and one should be quite cautious in thinking Western cultural Christianity is always synonymous with Biblical Christianity. For example many Christians like me are well aware that Jesus was not born in December and while we may celebrate Christmas with others it is done so by way of accommodation. The Bible gives true witness to when Jesus was born.

Exactly and as a Christian this is what I have said to people of other religions and unbelievers for years. What if you are wrong?

As for the "rock star"...Sir Isaac Newton. He can speak more eloquently for himself than I ever could.

"This most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent Being. … This Being governs all things, not as the soul of the world, but as Lord over all; and on account of his dominion he is wont to be called “Lord God... or “Universal Ruler”. … The Supreme God is a Being eternal, infinite, absolutely perfect."

Hope you all had a most happy Christmas

I have a hard time with the notion that the Creator on Heaven and Earth still wants to have a relationship with me after all I have done. I am blessed beyond all measure cause the Spirit has drawn me to the knowledge of Christ and what he accomplished on Calvary. I get tears in my eyes just trying to grasp the concept that one would send his only begotten son to die on the cross for the sins of the world, and if I was the only one in the world He would have done the same. Now that is a love everyone needs. If you lay your head down tonight and do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I urge you to call to Him, repent and follow Him the rest of your days. SALVATION IS FREE BUT IT WAS NOT CHEAP! God bless this forum for allowing someone like me to say these things.

Well, we could go old school, like the countries that are Islamic, and sentence some to death for blasphemy. That's exactly what Pakistan did to a college professor over there. And In 2019, with out any proof, they accused him, so that makes him guilty. For supposedly insulting a 'self-declared' prophet.
There was a guy interviewed on NPR several years ago, & told the story of the Pope allowing him to research the books they had on the inquisition. They had detailed notes on how much the rope cost, and how much they used when they tied women and children to the stake for 'Witchcraft' or whatever other charges they could dream up. This was usually done to people of wealth & that had land. It was only natural then that the church divvied up the profits between the inquisitor and the church.
After all of baggage of history that religions have in their corner, i find it strange to find that anyone at all that can be even a little bit religious today. It's like explaining that 2=2=4, but they say oh no! It's really 135! because It says so in my ancient text! This is why I find the topic of region so interesting.

I hear ya!
Religion never saved anyone. Only trust in God and belief in His son saves. That is why God sent Him to redeem us from sin and death and deliver us from the bondage of law and religion. Jesus never ever condemned anyone. He did however have some very harsh words for the leaders of corrupt religion. He said "You put burdens on my peoples backs that even you cannot handle." That's what religion does to people. Jesus did not come to found a new religion he came and died in your place and give you the gift of eternal life. Take it!

wbm, I so appreciate your words which are plain, simple and true. You are very skilled in speaking the message that The Lord wants us to hear. (you Christian trickster you:p)

I'm pretty sure it would be a great pleasure to sit in a Bible study with you. jd
