Grendel speed

Got a friend that has a 6.5 Grendel CZ HB 527 coming. Realistically, what speeds with handloads can he achieve in that ( 24") length barrel. Curious as I have considered a custom build in it on a Remy action.

Grendel forum has some data. I'm getting 2500ish with berger 130s, lapua brass, LeverEvolution powder. This is for high power silhouette, and I haven't really tried any other powder with the 130s. I get about the same with 108s and Varget, but you can't get much varget in there. I'm shooting a R700 with a 26" barrel.

I get 2511 FPS out of a BHW 3P rifling 20" .264 LBC Barrel Using 8208,CCI 450,Hornady brass and 123 gr. ELD-M. Can go up in charge but it shoots great so I don't really see a need too. This is an AR platform also. Howa mini action in 6.5 G with Lapua Brass,CCI 450, 8208, 123 ELD-M, 20" HB. Haven't chronographed it but I am going to pillar bed and skim bed it when I get the chance then chrono it. You can get higher velocities but I don't see the need to push stuff too hard. You and he will enjoy the rifle and round. Low recoil and very accurate.

2,495 w/29.1 CFE223, 123 Nosler CC
2,435 w/28.0 Varget, 123 Scenar
2,414 w/25.0 LT32, 123 Nolser CC
all out of a 24" barreled A/R

Best groups with 8208XBR and 123 Scenar - but don't have velocity recorded.

I have a 6.5 Grendel 24" barrel for an T/C Encore. I have been shooting the factory Federal Eagle Varmint ammo with the 90-grain TNT bullet at 3000fps.

Shot my Howa Youth 6.5 Grendel Mini action 20" bbl on Friday out to 700 yards. Consistent hits on small rocks and clay birds. Weighs a little over 6 pounds with a 6.5/20 leupold on it. Shooting hornady 123 sst with 27 grains of xbr at 2460 fps. How much more fun can you have with a gun that only cost $349. I have done nothing to it except shoot it. This was the second load I tried in it.

I have a 24" MGM barrel for my TC Encore. I am getting around 2600 fps with a 105 grain Cavity Back bullet. I have quite a bit of room for more velocity, but this load shoots so good, I can't bring myself to push for more.
Same thing with my 123 grain SST load. It clocks in right at 2500 and shoots 0.75" groups pretty consistently.

I ALSO GET AROUND 3000 FPS WITH THE 90GR TNT WITH H-335 OUT OF MY MINI AND SHOOTS VERY WELL I ALSO USE THIS RIFLE FOR WHITETAIL DEER I SHOOT 100GR BARNES TTSX WITH H-335 AND IT ALSO DOES WELL

AR platform. 2480fps with the 130 Berger AR Hybrid, 24 inch cheap Bear creek barrel, Starline brass, CCI450's and Leverevolution. Shoots 5 into 5/8 inch or so consistently.
Took it up to a match at Dan Newberrys' last month, targets out to 1193 yards. Hits out to 850 or so were just as "easy" (lol) as with my .243. Misses were all on me, bad wind calls for the most part.
Fairly impressive for a case that size and an 80 barrel.
