It took a while, but I finally got my Axis and Blackbuck mounts back.

The hunt was last July down in Texas and I had a blast. The taxidermist had some issues with his tanner, which is why the delay, but the mounts turned out awesome and he did a wall pedestal mount on the Axis with no upcharge due to the delay.
All of the little details like the areas around the eyes, bases of antlers/horns and stitching are spot on.

    I am very happy.

The taxidermist is Verrips Taxidermy Studio in San Antonio.

Very nice trophies. I am particularly fond of the Black Buck Antelope. They make a beautiful mount and you got yourself a good one.
    What ranch were you hunting?

I hunted Agua Vida Ranch, near Rocksprings, TX. Joe is a great host and the ranch is wide open, so hunting is definitely not "canned. Lots of great animals as well.

If I ever make a Texas trip, Blackbuck before Whitetail or hogs.

They are so cool. Super territorial and aggressive. The does come in twice a year, so the males fight all the time.

To me the are like the bluegills of the antelope world. Way more fight than you would expect from their size. And they are beautiful.
