Brain teaser for the day...

If a gun, say a slow shooting heavy bullet 308, is dead nuts on the X at 1000 yards, where will the point of impact be if you cant the rifle 45 degrees to the right and shoot?

No explanations for now, just your answer.

I would make this a poll but I don't know how to poll dance.

I think low right. Amost 20ft right. According to this article right from this site

If its canted around the exact centerline of the bore, it should hit dead nuts where the first shot impacted. Canted around point of aim, probably high left or right depending on right or left handed shooter.

At 45 degrees of cant - in the berm. I'll save the explanation for later ;D

Right or left?

Too many undefined variables.

Was the sight picture corrected back to the center of the target after canting? How much wind was on the sights? What was the axis of rotation?

No scope corrections. The cross hairs are held on the X as before.

the barrel is pointing up in the direction of the scope, if we rotate the rifle clockwise on the scope axis, the barrel is now pointing up and right, at a lesser angle so the bullet will hit low right.

When I shoot sitting at 200 yds in the highpower matches I roll the rifle to the right about 30 degrees because thats where it wants to go. I need 2 min of left windage to stay in the X ring. elevation is the same. At 1000 yds impact would be way right, but i've never shot sitting at 1000.
