Anyone seen or used a Benchmark cut barrel?
This might help:
Benchmark Barrels are Button rifled now days & have been for quite some time. - I have used them in 338, 308, 284 & 224 - all with very good results. - Possibly in their very early days they may have made some cut rifled barrels but not a whole lot. - Contact Bill Broderick @Benchmark barrels, he can answer questions & provide further insight.

Ask Gary Eliseo how well they shoot.
I have a smallbore barrel from them - shoots VERY well out to 200yds.. I don't think the 'list' above says much about quality of the barrels. Last time I checked Schneider's, for example, are more expensive and harder to come by but are outstanding barrels. No arguing with Krieger or Bartlein to be sure though. Any of the brands listed would shoot well.
They are right there with any of the top shelf barrels. A very good barrel!
My Benchmark button rifled barrel is a shooter, .223.
I am running one in a 7 SAUM (8.5t Heavy Palma). As the cool kids say "It's a hammer". Very fast and quite accurate. 2997fps at 28 5/8" long with a 180 hybrid. Probably will not be my last Benchmark.
Below is 5 rounds at 100y. It also printed an awesome group at 1500y at the last ELR match. The spotter/RO was very impressed
Quotes from the PRS blog help no one....
Benchmark is top shelf. I should go out to see them. I've heard rumors of a new machine...
I have a Benchmark light palma, 8.5 twist in 260 rem. Shoots just like my Broughton and my Krieger. Great barrel.
Yes I understand they make very good button barrels but they have been making/experimenting with CUT barrels on new machines but nothing posted about them yet,
I sent Benchmark an email inquiring about cut barrels. I’ll update if they respond.
Update per Benchmark:
Benchmark is currently developing their cut rifled barrel process. The cut rifled Barrels will not be available for some time. Benchmark will continue to make button rifled barrels.
