Bedding thickness ?

I was looking at spare stuff. Remington action in a McMillan Edge stock. Stock was bedded for Panda glue in.

Looks like a lot of bedding thickness. Any thoughts on problems arising?

When I relived my stock for bedding ; I considered the depth of material to take out , and settled on roughly .125 depth for above mentioned reasons . The stock was quite robust , ( Richards Micro-fit Laminate ) so removing that much material was no a issue . Bedding was done in two layers , and it has turned out to be a excellent job , all told . Four years , and over 5,000 rounds , tight as the day it was done . Always time to do it twice , but never time to do it right . Take the time to do it right , and you'll only have to do it once .
