Telling haters to pound sand after shooting 1/3 MOA on a breezy and hot day?
Priceless!

10 touching looking through mirage and with the target backer fluttering.

For all of the questions answered and all of the knowledge gleaned from this site, (especially reloading!), thank you.
Thank you very much.

I have an AR in the safe, bought it when Bummer went into office, never fired it. All I have to compare to an AR is 700 Rems worked over with Hart bbls for shooting dogs built 30 years ago. Dowling did those.

Front Caldwell bag, rear squeeze bag. The grass is tall enough at the range to negate flags, so just the ribbon on the 100yd. There was also enough pollen in the air to help pick up zephyrs.
This was actually the most pleasant weather we've had in months, I was happy to finally see how this would turn out.

How long is that barrel? Those are really good velocities for a 77gr, even if it's an AI chamber.

24.5" McGowen. Starline cases in .223 run on the "small" side in my experience. The LC09 cases I am working with on another build, (obviously before fire-forming) hold almost 2gr more of H2O.

You are preaching to the choir, sir.
It's not bragging if it's true.
AR is just a great rig.
no bolt cock. no head off the stock.
no scope eyebox change.
what haters?

I've got a dpms, everything factory but the trigger. Heavy barrel. I shoot 50gr vmax, tried other bb's but it like them. It will shoot 1/2 inch group. Velocity is low, but I will give up speed for accuracy.

An AR done right is a nice rifle.

A friend sent me this a couple years ago and I laid one of my 5 shot targets it on it at the correct size. This is at 100 yards. Below is onbe of my 10 shot AR targets.

My AR is a basic Palmetto 16" stainless barrel with 1/8 twist, a 5.56 chamber, and a muzzle brake. The barrel is not free floated. My most accurate rounds are 69 grain Sierra Match Kings with 25.3 grains of Varget in Federal cases and the C.O.L. set to 1.300" (using magazines that will take that length). Still there is about .150" jump to the lands. This is at 100 yards. Why the shot off to the right? I somehow always seem to get a flier and this is a bad one. Normal group size for this rifle is about 1-1/4" -1-1/2" rarely shooting 1 MOA. Some 55 grain ammo I used in testing shot as much as 4-1/2" at 100 yards. That's a pattern, not a group.
