I have combed through this forum for many days trying to absorb as much information as possible on this cartridge. Ordered up a Brux 4 groove 30" bull barrel, Defiance Deviant single shot RBLP action, Bix-n-Andy trigger and brought it all to my gunsmith (Mark Chesebro) along with a dummy round.
A few weeks later shipped the barreled action off to Alex Sitman to have one of his new open class stocks inlet and bedded for my barreled action. The hardest part seemed to be the wait which ended up being close to 6 months from beginning to end.
Took the virgin brass, expanded the necks and seated the 105 hybrids over 30.0 grains of Varget. Broke in the barrel last weekend and did a seating depth test with the last 50 rounds and it seemed to like just touching the lands. Loaded the other 100 pieces of virgin brass to the above numbers and drove to my first match with this rifle.
It took exactly 4 sighter shots to strike a dead center X and then went for record. This was the first time I have ever shot a clean 200 with 11 x's and finished the match with a 591-29X. I do not even have a classification at Mid Range but was extremely pleased with the accuracy especially with the lack of load development.
The point of this post was to thank the contributing members for sharing the information that made this build possible and successful. I am now looking forward to dialing in the load for this rifle and cant seem to keep the smile off my face moving forward.
