I have Bartlein heavy palma 5R left hand gain twist 11 to 9.5. Being installed I should have it back in two weeks then the fun begins.

Thanks please keep us posted, it has been said that the gain twist is beneficial in terms of drift at longer ranges.

I wonder how. Once a bullet is at the muzzle it's twist is set in stone or so I thought. The other issue in my mind is that with the increasing twist rate would the lands then cut a wider groove in the bullet?
I have a left twist Palma barrel that I inherited with a rifle. Other than the gyroscopic drift seamingly going the opposite direction I found no advantage for the shooter. Never noticed the rifle rotating away from my face as a right-hand shooter.
Will be looking for updates.

Don't mind the skeptics, Bill. I have no doubt it'll shoot just fine.

My understanding is that the hardest part will be reliably obtaining those left hand twist-specific bullets. Like left-handed golf clubs and electric guitars, they're a little harder to come by.

it has been more that two weeks but I pick it up to day and break it in on the 4th.

Spin drift will counter coriolis almost exactly. Shooting east or west, you will still have vertical change of impact (bullet will hit higher shooting toward the east, and lower shooting toward the west). This is about a foot at 1,000 yards. I disagree with the ballistics world about bullet jump from crosswind effect. I say your shots will go higher with a left crosswind, and lower with a right crosswind when shooting a left-hand twist barrel. Others in the ballistics world (AKA the experts) say it will still be the other way. You will find out.

I think If your a right handed shooter, torque is offset using a left twist barrel. Kinda breaks even if that makes sense.
