Just revisiting a rifle I have not used in 10+ years. Lost dies and gear plus data in a house shift. I am struggling to find data on this cartridge. Want to use 58 VMax and 80 gr too. Curious as to best powders? Anyone tried MR 2000 in this caliber? Alliant couldn’t help with any data. Win 760? Thanks in advance!

This is from the Nosler website for the 55 gr and 80 gr. bullets but will certainly get you started.

Should we assume that the 58 gr. is a VMAX and will see use in the varmint fields? If so, then I suggest Hybrid 100V as a primary powder due to the lower flame temperature (easier on the barrel) and nearly the same velocities but slightly slower. I have had excellent results with this combination for the rare times I need an ultra fast varmint bullet for low volume shooting like ground hogs. Be aware of the extraordinary jump which will occur in factory rifles. If it's a custom, check your max OAL as you still might see a sizable jump.

I haven't shot the 80 gr. bullets ever so I'm no help there.

My normal load is for the 105 AMAX which I laid in a large supply of when it was discontinued. I have used this on Coues deer and antelope and an occasional whitetail with superb results. I also take this rifle along for prairie dogs when the ranges get longer with the now gun shy Pdogs. This combination is excellent out to 1,000 yards for little targets sitting safe (they think...) on their mounds.:D

    Enjoy the process!;)

I mostly shoot the 95 grain Ballistic Tips in my 240Wby. It is a West German made gun. I use RL22 mostly but have also had good accuracy using H4831 and IMR 4350 with bullets from 75 - 85 grain when busting varmints.

I would also appreciate any info using Reloader 23 if possible?

You can use the data above in the Nosler examples with H-4831SC to get a starting idea for Re-23 with the 80 gr. Ballistic Tip. Be aware that you need to use the OAL as listed for this bullet since changes in the OAL affect pressure. Substituting a different bullet and OAL require testing. Find out where your bullet touches the lands.
