6br bullets for coyotes

I'm going to screw on one of my used 6br barrels ( 8tw )to a Origin action
and use it for coyote hunting now.
What bullet should I develop a load with.
Only shooting out to 200yds and want as much damage as possible
Don't save pelts.
Have been using a AR15 Just want to try the br this year

My 24" 8Twist 0.093 freebore Criterion shoots the following quite well:
-Nosler 55bt at 3500fps OAL 2.150"
-Speer 70gr TNT 0.010 off the lands with Varget

Both should make quite the mess of yotes

The 70 and 80 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips always leave big gaping holes. I just built a shorty 6mm Creedmoor and the 70gr Nosler BT's are the bullets I'll be using.

I've used plenty of Nosler BT's in 22cals on coyotes over the years and they were far from fur friendly.

I say 55 blitzking , tnt bullet's could come apart In an 8twist maybe. Using a light bullet like this 55 blitzking is helpful in that if you make a peripheral hit , like a glancing skin hit it will still desolidificate the coyote.

If you have a 270 and want to make a coyote clowd , the 85 mpg/ varmint grenade at 3800 fps + is spectacular.

I use 87 gr Vmax in my factory bbl, but u may want to see what that bbl likes. My $.02. Good luck and let us know what you come up with

I prefer polymer tip Hornady bullets. 87 gr VMAX minimum and preferably the 105 AMAX which is no longer being produced. When shooting beyond 300 yards I have found the 105 AMAX kills with more authority. I have never found the Berger hunting bullets to kill nearly as efficiently. Maybe more accurately but not as well. I will be switching to the Hornady 108 gr ELDM or 103 ELDX in the future. I shoot a 6mm AR Turbo 40 which is almost the ballistic equal of the 6 mm BR but in an AR platform. Knowing your ranges and trajectory holdovers is critical because of the velocity being 2820 FPS but if you hit him reasonably well he isn’t going far at all.

I’d shoot the 62 or 64 grain BR bullets Berger makes. They don’t leave a mark on coyotes.

I miss read this.

87vmax all the way.

Back years ago I used to shoot a 243 Win for ground hogs and was using the 75 gr Nosler solid base and then they stopped making that bullet and came out with the 70 gr ballistic tip. Even at long range it would shred a ground hog. Only 6mm I have shot in years has been a wildcat 6mm-225 Win in a 14" barrel T/C Contender pistol using the now discontinued 80 gr SSP bullet. It runs 2800 fps with 30 grs Varget and really comes apart. I was trying to use it for deer and did not like it because if exploded almost on impact inside the 100 yards I was shooting and the deer ran off a ways and did not leave much if any blood trail. I believe the Sierra 80 gr varmint bullet is the same bullet. Most any of the light varmint bullets should do what you want, just pick one that shoots the best in your rifle.
